A/N
Dear Beautiful Readers,
Quick update: finished editing the Big Bang story so please look forward to that after 20th October 2025.
Currently reading the WangXian Forever series, (and I'm a fast reader, apparently), so hopefully I will be able to get a start on Book 11 soon. I think it'll be full of fluffy moments and WangXian being parents to a chaotic baby...if you guys have any suggestions for names and things you'd like to see, please let me know and I'll do my best to fit them in.
As always, a massive thank you for reading. I love writing so much, still going strong after five years, so your comments and votes are an added bonus. It's nice to know what you think, but please never feel obligated to say something. I just want people to share in the joy that is Happy WangXian endgame.
Having said that, this story is an interesting idea that occurred to me after a good friend of mine left me hanging with a cliffhanger in her fic, and this is one of my theories and thankfully, not what they used/wrote about. Honestly didn't expect the funny parts, though.
All my love,
Charlie

A MOMENT OF WEAKNESS
Lan Zhan lands in the courtyard of Lotus Pier, stepping off Bichen lightly and still holding onto his husband's waist. Wei Ying looks up at him smiling brightly, though they are both tense about having to come here at this time of night.
"I love you, Lan Er-Gege," Wei Ying says.
He leans in for a kiss and if he intended it to be a quick one, Lan Zhan has other ideas and deepens it instead. He knows that Wei Ying, not allowed to thank him, has opted to present his feelings by hiding them in the very true sentiment of love. And while it is the predominant emotion in his lovely starlight eyes, Lan Zhan can clearly see apprehension in the tightness of his shoulders even as his arms wrap around Lan Zhan's neck. He would indulge Wei Ying more if not for the fact that they're in a place that no longer welcomes them openly, leaning towards a mere tolerance for their presence. Which also does little to explain why they've been invited at all, at the request of the cantankerous Sect Leader himself.
It's not his fault if Wei Ying is so tempting, and Lan Zhan is a weak, weak man when it comes to him. Lost in themselves, the sweet and scorching kiss obliterates any ability to think, and they don't hear the polite clearing of a throat.
Not until the third time when it is repeated so much louder.
Wei Ying pulls away first, a cheeky grin on his kiss-bitten lips. "Later," he promises, and Lan Zhan pouts. "Mn."
Wei Ying grabs his hand and clasps their palms together, hoping it'll be enough for now. Lan Zhan's petty side always flares up whenever they're close to Jiang Cheng, and although Wei Ying understands why, on this occasion, he's more curious as to why his adopted brother sent them an urgent message so late in the day. What could be so important that it couldn't wait? And why then did Jiang Cheng not come to the Cloud Recesses himself?
Lan Zhan, best husband that he is, didn't ask any questions at all. When the purple dragonfly message flew through their window in the Jingshi, he promptly caught it and deposited it in the centre of Wei Ying's hand, cradling it with his own. Upon understanding the nature of the missive, he immediately wrapped Wei Ying in extra robes, changed himself too, because they were both preparing for bed at the late hour, and sent messages to his brother and uncle about where they were going. It was just before curfew and now, a good five hours later, they've arrived in Yunmeng just before dawn, when the skies appear darkest.
