One Year Later:

Wei Ying drags his blanket behind him, pulling it closer around his shoulders as he shuffles downstairs, the scent of his favourite coffee like an invisible thread tied to his nose and pulling him along like a bull in a training ring. His eyes half open in blinks just to make sure he doesn't bump into anything, though Lan Zhan has taken care to remove anything that might hurt him because this isn't the first time Wei Ying has done this.

When he reaches the ground floor, he hears peals of laughter from the garden and takes a detour to the second lounge, where his husband is sitting on his favourite chair, watching Wen Popo and Wen Qing making a snowman with A-Yuan. Wei Ying climbs into his lap and covers them both with his blanket, smiling when Lan Zhan kisses his hair and holds him closer. Wei Ying sighs with pleasure and snuggles closer to Lan Zhan's warmth, thinking how lucky he is, closing his eyes and falling asleep again.

Lan Zhan smiles at his cute husband, and he looks up at the bunny clock on the wall. Wei Ying will rise at exactly 11.59 Am, and he can have this for another half an hour.

He thinks back to that very first Tuesday after XiChen's wedding, pleased that everything turned out so well.

His first surprise for Wei Ying involved contacting his estate agent and making them search for a house big enough for his family. By Monday night, Lan Zhan had possible addresses and appointments in place, so he focused on changing up his work life so he could be in control, but remotely, so it would not matter where he was so long as he had WiFi.

After waking Wei Ying up with plenty of kisses and finding out that they didn't count if the man in question hadn't instigated them, Lan Zhan had treated the love of his life to lunch and then they had arrived here.

It was a manor house with a large building at the back, and in the grand old days, grounds like this one had a separate house on one side for the gardener and another one for the staff, opposite it. The manor itself had four wings: an east wing where Lan Zhan and Wei Ying could live with A-Yuan (that was the goal), the west wing where XiChen and Nie MingJue could live if they wanted to, and a guest wing for whoever wanted to stay with them at any given time, and an entertaining wing for whenever they wanted to do that.

Lan Zhan took one look at the premises with the gardens and all the buildings under its property limits and knew it was it for them. Wei Ying turned out to be the one that needed convincing, and only when Lan Zhan had taken him alone to the building at the back, did he think it could be real, this dream of Lan Zhan's.

Lan Zhan showed him how this storeroom as it was then, could be turned into a fully operational studio with separate sections for each stage of Wei Ying's production, from start to finish. A concept area for meeting with possible clients, right through to assembling and creating the different parts, like a bead section, an embroidery machine, the sewing part with machines at the ready, and then finally a fitting room full of mirrors so the happy clients could see themselves from all angles.

He could see the doubt on Wei Ying's face, so he decided to go for the hard sell, telling him the rest of the plan.

The Gardener's house could be modified to accommodate Lan Qiren so then he'd be closer to A-Yuan and the house opposite him, should be given to the Wens so that A-Yuan could still have his family around him.

Wei Ying cried.

Lots of hugs and kisses were exchanged, leading to a quickie that could have been embarrassing, if not for the patience of the person showing them around. They cleverly waited outside, a distance away.

Once Wei Ying agreed, Lan Zhan began his Bring-The-Family-Together plan in earnest. He hired architects and building companies, and six months later, everyone moved in.
