Wei Ying leaves his ShiJie smiling though her eyes are still wet, and he feels another wave of anger. How dare that no-good, fluffed up waste of space make his sister feel bad? Again?? His sister is way too good for the Peacock and he just doesn't know it-

Maybe that's the problem! Maybe Jin ZiXuan needs help getting his head out of his ass...Wei Ying makes a face at the mental image his brain helpfully supplies. But what if he's right? He thinks back trying to remember if Jiang YanLi and Jin ZiXuan ever said more than ten words to each other, and he doesn't think so. They're always pushed together in a room full of chaperones and awkward silences, and truthfully, the peacock hasn't had a real chance to get to know the person he has been betrothed to since birth. Of course he would be pissy about that!

Well, the time to change that is coming soon. In a few days, ShiJie, Jiang Cheng and himself are going to the Cloud Recesses for the guest lectures, and what better time is there to make sure the peacock's eyes are open? Wei Ying is going to do this by force, no question about it! This is the solution they've been searching for...well, He has. Nobody else seems to care about his sister like he does. Everyone including her has resigned themselves to a loveless marriage, or one sided because Jiang YanLi does seem to like him an excessive amount. Wei Ying tamps down the urge to throw up.

He can't stand the peacock if he's honest...but if the end result is making his sister happy then Wei Ying will do it! He will become a good friend to the peacock, and show him how good Jiang YanLi is, what a catch she is, and everyone will be happy, right?! What could go wrong?

Jin ZiXuan a.k.a. asshole extraordinaire, has a stick shoved up his butt so long, it can probably be used to vault over the Yangxi river! He ruined everything by not giving them even two rooms at the inn in Caiyi Town, after his disciples reserved the whole premises! What kind of heavy-handed money flaunting behaviour is that? Wei Ying wants to fight him then and there, but one look at his heartbroken sister and he shuts right up. He recalls his epiphany from a few days ago and resolves to hang onto his patience.

What he really needs is some one-on-one time with that prick and find out why he's so opposed to his sister.

But in the meantime, Wei Ying has his own problems, namely, one half of the famously beautiful, brilliant and talented Twin Jades, Lan WangJi himself. Wei Ying takes one look at him and that's it. He knows they're going to be best friends forever, and it's proved by how well they match when they spar! Okay, Wei Ying didn't get a chance to draw Suibian, but next time for sure!

Lan Zhan is magnificent, how he glides and attacks, his focus a hundred percent intense on Wei Ying and his defence, sparks fly every time that gorgeous white blade like ice personified hits his wooden scabbard, and Wei Ying really wants to get to know him better!

But all Lan Zhan is interested in is punishing him. *sad faces...

They're in the library and Wei Ying is busy drawing the prettiest boy he's ever seen, but his mind is preoccupied. Each stroke of his paintbrush exacerbates his worry because the days are fleeting, he's stuck here and the peacock is out there, forever surrounded by his sycophantic followers, all of which is detrimental to his objective. He needs to talk to Jin ZiXuan by himself and get to the nitty-gritty, the essence behind the man. If he has any substance, that is. What if he's a himbo?
