A/N

Dear Fabulous Readers,

This fic came about because I met a lady as a customer in the shop where I work, and as I was handing her the last piece of chocolate from the festival season, she said to me in a conversational way that nobody does anything for her, that she's so busy looking after other people that there's no time left for her own needs. So I mentioned that even if it's a small thing like eating a nice chocolate, or cooking something you like, one must do acts of self care for themselves. We cannot expect others to do it for us especially when it's not a guarantee (if it happens then of course, it's a lovely surprise!) And why should we expect others to care for us when the first person who should, is right here inside us?

Just five minutes, as little as that, spending time with yourself is incredibly rewarding. Imagine a beautiful golden dandelion blooming right before your very eyes, and as you look upon its gorgeous beauty, the wind blows and all those delicate petals turn into lovely white seedlings ready to float away. Each one represents something you are worried about, and isn't it great to see them vanish as if the flower had never been there? But save a single fluffy seedling for yourself and make a wish. Do not tell, for it won't come true!

I hope that helps and please be kind to yourselves.

All my love,
Charlie

Come Back To Gusu With Me

Jiang Cheng stares at the Lan sect messenger with annoyance.

"I have to read this now?" What if he has other pressing concerns? What then, huh? He knows he's being a brat, and right now, he doesn't care. He misses the days when his highest priority of the day was lying on the pier with his feet splashing the cool waters below.

But his mother's voice suddenly rings sharp and true in his head, reminding him of his duty and his birthright and therefore, his responsibility. So he sighs deeply internally and rips away the blue wax seal with the clouds on it, to open the missive. As his finger touches the good quality thick parchment, he briefly wonders why the Lan sect still insists on using such an expensive version since all the sects except for the Jins had monetary issues. And he wishes once again that Wei WuXian was there with him, if not for any advice which they both know he won't take, but just because that would give them the advantage over a hoity-toity group of Lans with a stick up their backside so long and wide, it might as well be the bastinado they love using so much.

But Wei WuXian is probably either drunk or getting there, or trying to sleep it off. Jiang Cheng has only ever seen him in one of those three states since the war ended, and ... That's a subject he barely has time to consider these days. If Wei WuXian isn't actively helping him rebuild the Jiang Sect, then Jiang Cheng doesn't want to know.

His curiosity gets the better of him and he starts reading.

"Greetings, Jiang-Zongzhu.

I trust this letter finds you well, or as well as can be expected given our current circumstances. I do not wish to waste your time so I will get straight to the point.

It is our wish, first and foremost, as allies both during the Sunshot Campaign and hopefully still a relationship worth maintaining, that we can provide relief to each other in whatever capacity is available. To that end, we are hoping to assist you with the recovery of your Head Disciple, Wei WuXian's good health. We are aware of the continuing presence of the resentment energy in his system wielded during the war, which gave the Allied sects the advantage of ensuring a victory they would otherwise not have won. As you are well aware, GusuLan has perfected the discipline necessary regarding musical cultivation and we strongly believe that we can cleanse Wei WuXian of any harmful residual effects of his secondary path.
