Chapter 111

"Of course I play the hero, I am the embodiment of light after all!" Yuga exclaims, fixing his hair.

"...What did I do to deserve this..." sighs Jiro, clearly fed up.

"Don't worry, my dear heroic friend, we will defeat the villains and save the world from their evil deeds!" Yuga proudly announces, striking a heroic pose.

"...Yeah, I don't doubt it..." Jiro concentrates and takes a deep breath. "So what do we do then?"

"..."

"Hey, I asked you a question," Jiro insists. "What's the plan?"

"My cape is beautiful, isn't it?" asks Yuga.

"You don't have a bloody clue, do you!"

On the fifth floor of the building, Sero blocks the entire floor with white sticky tape coming out of his elbow, preventing anyone from moving across it, while Koda looks on helplessly.

"There you go!" announces Sero says, placing his last band. "Now we just have to wait for them. I also put some on the stairs, just to tire them out." Then he turns to his teammate, who doesn't look like he wants to be there at all. "Koda, listen, I know your alter here isn't super effective, but I'm sure we can come up with something."

Koda turns to him, interested, but shrugs anyway, convinced that it will be useless. His alter allows him to communicate with animals and command them, which makes indoor missions, especially in human environments, a pain for him.

"Hmmm! Ah, but I know!" Sero claps his hands. "Insects! I'm sure there are plenty of insects here! At worst, you call in some flies, mosquitoes, and other bugs, and that's it!"
Hearing this, Koda panics and visibly trembles, waving his arms around to show that it's out of the question.

"Wait... Don't tell me you're afraid of insects..." Sero asks skeptically, but sighs when he sees Koda's response.

He shakes his head, agreeing wholeheartedly, and curls up in a ball in the corner, overcome with shame, leaving Sero completely confused.

"Let the battle commence!!" All Might shouts through the loudspeakers.

"Well, we're not out of the woods yet!" Sero is taken aback by the announcement. "I'll find something, so you try to make yourself useful too, okay?"

The two heroes enter the building without much concern thanks to Jiro and her alter, jack plugs hanging from her earlobes, which she places on the wall to pick up any sound or vibrations around them.

"I can't pick up anything. They're not moving, probably to avoid me spotting them." Jiro steps forward, closely followed by Yuga.

"Do you think they moved the target too?" asks Yuga.

"Neither of them has the ability to move an object with a snap of their fingers, so no." She looks down the stairs, seeing nothing, then climbs them. "So we'll slowly make our way to the fifth floor and confront them there if they are."

"I didn't expect you to be so fierce, Jiro," Yuga remarks.

"It may be just practice, but remember, we're still being graded!" Jiro exclaims, her cheeks red. "And besides, the real monsters in our class are going right after us, and I don't want to look bad in front of them, that's all."
