"All right, tell me where the mistake is in the next example sentence..." asks Present Mic, teaching his English class. "Who knows the answer? Everyone raise your hands high!"

(Back to normal...) I feel a yawn coming on, but I hold it back, not wanting to get chalk thrown in my face. (As a Devil, English classes are so easy...)

I turn to Asia, thinking she would be as bored as I am, but she raises her hand enthusiastically. I discreetly glance over at Tsuyu and Mina, seeing that they are just as bored as I am.

(I would have thought they would be a little more traumatized than that.) Mina notices me and winks at me.

The rest of the morning passes quietly, albeit a little slowly. And so noon arrives, and with it, lunch break. I bend down to take my lunch box out of my bag, and when I look up, Momo Yaoyorozu is standing in front of me, as if she's waiting for something from me.

"Momo-san, what can I do for you?" I ask, getting up from my chair.

"I wanted to ask you... you know, I'm curious about your powers..." She asks timidly.

"Oh..." I remember she had already asked me that a few months ago, but we hadn't had time to talk about it. "Yes, I remember, but if you wanted to eat in the cafeteria... Um, I already have my bento box..."

"Me too." She shows me her lunch box, smiling. "Do you know a nice place to eat?"

"Of course." I prompt her to follow me out of the classroom. "So, what do you want to know?"

"Well, to start with, let me tell you about my alter." She walks beside me, raising her open hand. Pink and blue particles emerge from the palm of her hand, then, as if coming out of her body, a fork appears. "My alter is called creation. As the name suggests, it allows me to create any non-living material from my skin by molecular manipulation of my fat cells. As you know, alters can be more or less similar, with a few differences... But so far, I've never met anyone with an alter that resembles mine..."

"..." I listen patiently to what she says, opening the door for her. "Did you feel like an alien?"

"Um... Yes, I thought I was an anomaly, and even though my alter is very useful..." She clenches her fist. "I still hated it, because it made me feel terribly alone... But when I saw you for the first time, when you stopped a duel by making a sword appear out of nowhere, I thought I had finally found someone like me... But you don't have an alter, you have something even more incredible."

"Yes, I don't have an alter." I sit down at an outdoor table near the cafeteria. "But each ability is incredible in its own right."

"Yet magical circuits are certainly the source of all our powers, they are also so powerful that the evolutions we have today cannot even dream of reaching!" Momo continues with intensity.

"Sure, but if overused, the magic circuits could kill me." I cut her off. "Today, we have the alters, an evolution of magical circuits that function like muscles. They are less powerful, but they prevent you from overdoing it and stop you before you kill yourself, which is not the case with magical circuits. If overused, they will overheat and cook you from the inside. They are not muscles, but nerves, which once damaged beyond repair, lose all sensation, and by then it is already too late."

"The evolution of magic circuits has ensured safety..." Momo murmurs, taking in what I've just said. "However... alters can have repercussions on the user..." She opens her bento box. "Like for me, even if it's minimal..."

"Actually, I was going to ask you, your alter works by using the fat you have, right? So I guess you must eat a lot to be able to use your alter." I ask, starting to eat with her.
