{Chapter 24.}

Lydia:

It wasn't long before Damon, Grace and I stood by the door downstairs waiting for Stefan and Elena to come down.

" Sorry we're late." Elena had appeared before our eyes and then Stefan next to her.

" It's okay, now let's go." Grace smiled, opening the door for us to leave.

Stefan decided to be responsible and drive us to the mall. The closest one was a fifteen minute drive away, at least that's what Damon explained to me.

Being in the car together felt awkward to me. Considering what happened between Damon and I this morning, Stefan and Elena were exes and Grace was the newest doppelgänger. A voice told me at the back of my head that I really should've invited Caroline and Bonnie on behalf of Elena but, I shut it out. Today was just going to be laid back and nice. Bonnie always seemed too tense to have fun and Caroline tried too hard to be it.

" We're here guys." Stefan said in a monotoned voice, as he finished parking the car.

" Fantastic!" Grace practically sped her way into the mall.

Stefan and Elena had gravitated towards each other and walked in as Damon and I followed. It was a tall, mostly made of glass structure that lacked of population.

" So should we split up?" Damon looked around at all of us.

" Yeah, you guys take Grace and I'll take Elena. Meet back here at five o'clock." Stefan responded as if he was in a rush and within a second him and Elena had walked away.

" That's it?" I questioned looking at Damon.

" I guess so." He shrugged.

" Wow, look at how nice that dress is!" I heard Grace say before she rushed into a store.

Damon and I followed her into a fancy store that had dresses displayed on mannequins. There were two other people in it besides us three.

" Isn't this one pretty Lydia." Grace pointed out a strapless light green dress that was a bit bejewelled around the waist.

" Yeah, it is." I agreed, not bothering to look at the dress much.

" I think it would look nice on you." She grinned at me.

" You mean you, right?" I paused before whispering. "We look the same."

" Oh, right. I meant to add that in." She said, sarcastically and looking at the dress.

When I glanced behind me, Damon was looking at a mannequin on the other side of the store. I shifted through the racks to see what he was looking at. It was a long sleeved warm pink dress that hugged the curves of the mannequin. Most of it being lace.

" You know this is a women's store right?" I questioned with a chuckle.

" Of course I know that." He looked at me with a smile. "This one would look nicer on you."

" And Grace." I added. "Since we are the same."

" No I mean you. Just because you two look the same, it doesn't mean you are the same." Damon shook his head slowly.

" When did you get so smart?" I asked.

" I was always smart, you just never saw it." He smirked with a wink.

Elena:

Stefan and I had grabbed two coffees in the mall after we had skipped breakfast this morning. Now we were walking in the mall slowly, things were sort of quiet.
