{Chapter 27.}

Lydia:

Damon and I were now walking back to the boarding house in silence. There was so much happening, it was impossible for me to concentrate. So now I wasn't actually a doppelgänger, I was just a twin and I wasn't Lydia Rivers, I was Lydia Gillan. I was a product of another couple who I'd never even met.

" I don't believe this Damon." I blurted, too busy in my thoughts.

" Well, you have no choice Lydia. This is the truth." His words came out jumbled.

" How would I be related to Grace if we don't have anything in common?" I asked in disbelief.

" Just keep in mind that she's probably been compelled in the past. Most of the things that she remembers are a bit messed around with." Damon explained getting to the doorstep.

We stood there for a second in front of each other as if, waiting for something.

" I need my own proof." I said. "I need a blood sample or a spell, something that can link her and I."

Damon just stood there, looking at me in questionability. It was like he was physically there but, mentally absent.

" We can always go back to Gladys' place." He offered.

" Another road trip?" I raised an eyebrow.

" Sure." He smiled.

" I'll think about it." I said, teasingly.

The next thing we knew, someone had opened the boarding house door.

" Hello you two." The British accent peeped.

" Elijah." I said, surprised.

" What are you doing here?" Damon asked, squeezing himself through the door.

When we entered, Grace was lounging on a sofa in the main room.

" You're back." She smiled at me. I smiled back casually but, all I could see in her was myself.

I took a seat next to her, Damon took a seat across from us and Elijah stood by the fireplace.

" Have you any knowledge of the plan that we're going to be using to kill my brother?" Elijah asked, curiously.

" Nope." Damon frowned and shook his head.

" Stefan's discussing it at the Grill right now, isn't he?" I questioned.

" Yes, and I'm pretty sure he won't be back for a while." Damon added.

" Sorry." Said Grace, not very apologetic.

" Terrific." Elijah threw his hands in the air with sarcasm. "Don't any of you have a clue about what's going on?" It was a rhetorical question.

" Honestly, not so much." Damon lounged on the sofa. "I don't pay much attention whenever Stefan starts talking, it's just: blah, blah, blah, blah, blah."

" Well, I've got places to be." Elijah detested.

" Hey." Damon narrowed his eyes. "Nobody told you to come here early."

" Yeah. As much as I hate agreeing with the smart-ass over here: you're quite early." Grace pointed out.

" Damon and Grace, both of you shut up. Elijah has the mental stance of an old man." I teased.

" I almost forgot how impatient I used to grow in the Salvatore boarding house." Elijah smiled, falsely.
