{Chapter 28.}
Damon:
" Lydia." I whispered, shaking one of her shoulders. "Wake up."
" Damon?" She woke up, rubbing her eyes and looking at the clock. "What happened? It's like five in the morning."
" Remember yesterday when we were speaking about you and Grace being twins?" I asked, fixing some hair behind her ear.
" Of course." She nodded her head.
" Remember when you told me that you needed your own proof to believe if it was true and I suggested another road trip?" I asked with a smirk.
She didn't say anything for a minute.
" Now?" She raised her eyebrows, sitting up on her bed. "You want to go to New Orleans now?" She repeated.
" It's your choice." I said, putting a hand on her leg.
" Yeah. Let's go." Lydia smiled, hopping out of bed and quickly sweeping her hair in a ponytail.
" You're sure?" I reassured, glancing at her. She nodded her head in a second flat.
" I'm very sure." She said
Her thoughts were roughing along my head like an ocean begging to enter my mind but, I refused. I was afraid of what she was thinking, if I read her thoughts, it would ruin things between us significantly.
" C'mon." She suddenly called out after slipping on a pair of jeans and a leather jacket. I didn't even notice.
Just as her hand had opened the door, Grace came tumbling in.
" Where are we going?" She asked cheerfully.
" Grace, um." Lydia fumbled for words before glancing at me.
" Lydia and I were just going somewhere. A bit of a road trip." I explained.
" So early? What for?" Grace questioned.
" I ... Wanted to go out this early." Lydia was a terrible liar. "I requested that Damon take me on a road trip."
" Sounds fun, where are you guys going?" Grace looked at me for an answer.
" Anywhere." I smirked.
" I'm coming, I'll get changed." She stepped out of the doorway and raced into her room.
" Damon." Lydia yell whispered, closing the bedroom door. "How will I ever find out if we're sisters now?"
" I guess that you'll just have to take my word for it." I shrugged with a smirk. She shook her head with a dull smile.
Alec:
" Remind me again why we're running around." I asked.
Katherine and I had traveled from New York to Mystic Falls all night. I just didn't understand why we didn't compel ourselves a motel but, it was alright. The jar of blood was the only reason why I was still awake. My body was truly exhausted, not all from last night but, the past four days have been rough. Everything was tiring me now and I couldn't figure out why really.
I ran up to where Katherine was. We looked around the dusty, dry road ahead of us. It seemed like we were in the middle of no where but, I remembered this road before.
" We have to find the boarding house." Katherine looked at me with the sunlight in her eyes.
" Well, we're almost there. I remember this road." I said, looking around.
