{Chapter 26.}
Lydia:
I was walking along the Victorian gardens on the West side of the Mystic Falls waterfall. The flowers growing in the garden were pretty and calming to look at, especially with the light sound of the water in the background.
I took a seat on a wooden bench right under a large tree and thought about things. Why did Damon refuse to tell me the truth at the boarding house? It had to be something important.
It was just ironic how weird things could get within a matter of seconds with Damon Salvatore. One second he was being this nice, calm, collected guy and the next he was an untrustworthy, cocky boy. I could never determine which Damon I wanted, the sweet or spontaneous one.
Although there were a lot of other things my mind could've pondered upon like school. I had received an exception letter from Whitmore college before coming to Mystic Falls and I still had no idea where the school was. There was also the fact that I still needed things from my house: the house I haven't been to in almost a month-ish.
Not to mention where my older brother could've been and why he had turned off his humanity. What would the town think if Cassidy never showed up to her first day of senior year? For now, people will just have to wonder because I don't have an explanation of why she's disappeared.
" Lydia." Damon was suddenly sitting by the other end of the bench. He hadn't frightened me though, vampires with their fluid movements hadn't scared me anymore.
" What are you doing here?" I asked quietly.
" You ran off before I could explain." He baffled.
" Actually, I ran off because you didn't explain." I corrected, crossing my arms.
" Well can you give me a chance to?" He asked. "I know that you want to know about it."
" After you've left Grace alone in the house ... Sure why not?" I exhaled, looking at the ground.
" Well, reason with me here- it was either, leave her in the house alone of chase after you. And I chose you." He said, capturing my attention. "So do you still want the truth or not?"
" What do you think?" I asked, sarcastically.
" Alright. So you wanted to know about the adoption sheet?" Damon smirked.
" Where did it come from?" I asked. "Grace said that her parents were-"
" Hey, hey, hey." Damon cut me off. "Who said it belonged to Grace?"
" Well, she did. But, I assumed it was hers because she was the only one that her parents adopted right?" I asked.
" Not exactly." Damon shook his head.
" What does that mean?" I asked, confused.
" Look, you have to promise me that you won't get mad when I tell you this." He came closer to me on the bench.
" It depends what it is. I can't tell you that I won't get mad if I don't know what you're talking about." I shrugged.
" Then promise me that you at least won't hate me forever." He smiled.
