The Slytherin dormitory of Mattheo, Enzo and Theo was filled that night with the flicker of candlelight and the low hum of laughter. Shadows danced across the stone walls, distorted by the faint orange glow of floating jack-o'-lanterns that Enzo conjured with questionable charm work. The pumpkins occasionally sputtered out, forcing him to relight them with a muttered "Lumos," to everyone's amusement. The air was filled with the scent of Butterbeer and pumpkin tarts. It wasn't a real Halloween party, not like the grand feasts they used to have in the Great Hall or the outrageous ones in the Slytherin Common Room, but it was something normal in a year that unfortunately stripped most of it away.
Theo and Blaise were sitting cross-legged on the floor, playing wizard chess with a levitating set that kept trying to bite Blaise's fingers, much to Olivia's amusement as she sat beside them. Luna and Ginny conjured tiny floating bats that swooped around above them, while Draco leaned lazily against one of the bedposts, entirely unimpressed by the entire affair and looking like he'd rather be elsewhere. Neville was recounting an incident from Herbology that morning, gesturing animatedly with his Butterbeer bottle, while Elena laughed beside him, the only other person other than Blaise who actually dressed for a party.
Around the whole room, were five 3-tier bunk beds, transfigured by Theo to ensure that no one needed to leave whatsoever and risk the capture by the Carrows. It was a smart idea, and something that only Theo could execute.
And of course, there was Enzo, proudly standing on one of the bunk beds. He was dressed head to toe in a tight red and blue Muggle Spiderman suit that Olivia ordered for him. He struck dramatic poses with his hands, pretending to shoot webs at Draco, who kept glaring at him.
"Thwip! Villain vanquished!" Enzo declared, pretending to lasso Draco's arm.
"Villain?" Draco scoffed, brushing off his sleeve in disdain. "If anyone here's the villain, it's you, for wearing that travesty."
Everyone laughed, even Ginny, who nearly spilled her Pumpkin juice mimosa as she snorted into her cup. There was something so endearing about Enzo's energy that somehow always pulled everyone back together.
Luna clapped her hands in delight. "I think you look wonderful, Enzo. I've always thought spiders were quite noble creatures."
"See?" Enzo puffed out his chest proudly. "Luna gets it."
"She always does," Blaise mused quietly, kissing her forehead affectionately. The act made Enzo openly gag.
Olivia shook her head. "You're crazy."
"And yet beloved," Enzo teased, winking through his mask before dramatically unzipping it to reveal his grinning face. "He fights crime," He explained passionately to Draco, hands gesturing wildly. "And he does it for love. For justice! For the people he cares about!"
