The week after Luna's disappearance was one of the most tense Hogwarts ever experienced since the Carrows had taken control.

Neville and Ginny made the decision almost immediately after Luna was found by Mattheo at Malfoy Manor. The message burned through the enchanted Galleons late that night, the coins heating just enough to demand attention.

Stand down. No meetings. No recruitment. Wait until the heat dies down.

Everyone in the D.A. understood why.

The Carrows were circling the school like vultures since Luna vanished, excitedly waiting for the next poor student to step out of line. And when the Carrows were salivating and craving their next punishment, the entire school paid the price.

Students who struggled with the Dark Arts spells Amycus demanded they perform were forced to practice them on one another. First-Years were made to cast jinxes on terrified Second-Years while Amycus laughed loudly from his chair. One Hufflepuff second-year was forced to perform the Cruciatus Curse on another student after refusing to demonstrate a Dark spell properly. When the boy refused again, Amycus cast the curse himself and forced the entire class to watch.

Alecto was just as vicious in her own way. She had begun randomly accusing students of insubordination, dragging them to the front of the classroom and interrogating them in front of everyone. One Ravenclaw girl was made to stand for three hours while Alecto forced her to repeatedly recite Ministry propaganda until she collapsed. Anyone who complained found themselves hexed or assigned to the "detention" room in the dungeons, where the Carrows' definition of discipline involved curses that left bruises blooming across skin.

The castle was somehow much quieter, if that was even possible. Fear had a way of doing that.

Neville and Ginny both knew that gathering the D.A. during that time would have been reckless. It was suicide. So the coins stayed silent and the meetings temporarily stopped.

For the first time since the group reformed, the D.A. was silent.

Emerson was halfway down the corridor on the way to Transfiguration when she felt the coin in her pocket suddenly burn. She flinched slightly at the searing heat against her palm.

"Oh—," She muttered in surprise, pulling the galleon from her pocket.

Beside her, Enzo immediately perked up like an overexcited dog.

"Wait—did it burn?" He asked eagerly, fumbling in his pocket and pulling the coin out like it might explode. "Yes! It's burning!"

Blaise sighed beside them, completely unimpressed. "Yes, Enzo. That tends to happen when someone calls a meeting."

Emerson turned the coin over. The message slowly appeared across the surface.

Meeting tonight.
