"Take this!" Tobi roared and flipped backwards. As he arched, his right foot slammed into my stomach. I felt the immense power crash into me, and my whole body shook. If I didn't have the power of the emeralds, he'd have shattered every bone in my body. Instead, the kick threw me into the air. Before I even knew what had happened, I was spinning through the clouds. One kick had thrown me that far?!

My wings straightened and I willed myself to stop, hanging there miles above the ground, with my view obscured entirely by clouds. I was about to dive down, but I heard the boom of the sound barrier breaking once again. "Gah!" I gasped, manoeuvring myself to the left. Less than a second later, Tobi tore up through the fluffy screen, blasting through the space I had just been floating in, a sinister black trail following him.

"You're not ready for this." Tobi smirked, hovering above me. "You don't know how to fight!"

"We'll see about that!" I growled. He was right, though. This new power was still foreign to me. It would take a while to learn how it operated fully. Thankfully it absorbed much of the pain I would've otherwise felt normally, so I would just have to keep going until I got the hang of things.

I flew at him and swung my fist round. He brought up his elbow and my punch crashed into it, the sheer force ripping the nearest cloud apart from the inside. Any normal man would've just had his arm blown off. But Tobi laughed and reached out with his other hand, and I winced as his fingers closed around my neck.

"Now, back to the dirt where you belong!"

He threw me straight down, and I roared through the sky, like a meteorite falling to Earth. The wind was blinding, but my journey was over before it had really begun. I crashed into the ground and pieces of it shot up all around as the sound of my impact rattled around for miles. I had travelled a very, very long distance in an incredibly short amount of time.

"Ngh..." I sat up and climbed to my feet. There was a crater stretching out a few metres all around me, grass and dirt blasted out of the ground and thrown everywhere. Tobi wasn't messing around.

"Toby!" I heard a voice. I looked down at my pendant. "Toby, are you all right?!"

"I'm ok!" I replied. It was Nelly. So the communication channel between the two pendants was working.

"Be careful!"

"Don't worry, I-!"

I leapt backwards and the ground in front of me leapt up into the air, soil forcefully tossed away by a second impact. Tobi had landed, and his smile was as sickly as ever.

"Had enough?" He asked.

"I haven't even started." I growled.

He spun round and kicked out. My golden wings beat the air and pushed me back, his foot shooting past my chest. One of Tobi's own wings followed through and clipped my cheek. Though the black appendage had very little physical presence, its touch zapped across the side of my face. It was like the dark power inside of him had just reached out and slapped me. It dazed me, and I stumbled backwards, about to fall down.

Tobi swung forward with a powerful punch – enough to rip a head from a neck. I let myself fall, and his fist lashed above my nose, missing it by an inch. He may have power, but he wasn't the only one. I grabbed his arm with both of my hands and dug my feet into the broken earth, spinning my weight round. Tobi was lifted off his feet and I let go, throwing him with all my might. He shot away, low above the ground, and grass was ripped from the soil as he flew. Tobi crashed through several trees, shattering them all before he eventually stopped himself in mid-air.

"Heh." I smiled to myself.

We flew towards each other at blinding speeds, but this time I landed my hit first. My uppercut crashed into his chin and he was sent spinning high into the sky. I wasted no time in taking off after him, leaving behind a golden trail that faded as I soared faster than the wind. Tobi was still correcting himself as I came up, both of my fists raised above my head. Let's see how he likes eating dirt! I brought my hands down as hard as I could, but they hit nothing. Tobi wasn't there!
