"What the hell are you doing, Harrington?" Jenna giggled as Steve spun her around.
"Obviously we're dancing, Henderson," He pulled her flush against him, "Man, I love having joint dreams."
"Yeah, my abilities do come in handy like that. I'm just shocked you're not sick of me at this point, I mean, now we spend all day and night together."
"I could never get sick of you, Jen. Ever."
She smiled at him before reaching a hand up and pulling him down for a kiss. He immediately kissed back and lifted her up so she could wrap her legs around his torso.
"Is it just me or are dreamscape makeouts almost as good as real life ones?" Steve mumbled against her lips.
"They're comparable, I guess, but it's not quite the same in here, babe."
"I guess you're right."
"The alarm's gonna go off soon," Jenna warned, pulling back from him slightly.
"Eh, who cares about that," He pulled her right back in.
"No, like, it's going to go off in a few seconds."
BEEP!
Steve groaned awake and slammed his hand down on the alarm.
"Always that stupid ass alarm ruining our moment," He grumbled, "Hey, Jen?" He stroked a hand down her back, trying to gently wake her up, "We need to get up now. Jen?"
"Let me out of here," Jenna angrily looked around her mindscape, trying to find where Henry was hiding, "This is my head, let me the fuck out of it."
"You kn0w," Henry stepped out from behind a wall, all dressed up in a brown suit with glasses and a pocket watch, "You're playing a risky game bringing your lover boy in here. I could take his mind over like," He snapped his fingers, "That. I already own most of the real estate in here. What's stopping me from taking his too?"
"We have a deal, that's what. I ask for one thing and you can't respect that."
"I've respected more than enough, Jenna. Don't push me or I'll push right back."
"Jenna!?" Steve started to shake her a bit, "Fuck, not again. Jenna! I need you to wake up for me," He gently got himself up from underneath her and grabbed their radio and set it down right next to her, cranking the music up even more, "I need you to listen to the music, Jen. You can do it. You can wake up."
Jenna's head turned to the portal opening up not too far behind her. She saw Steve panicking beside her.
"I need to go now, Henry," Jenna glared at him, "You keep Steve out of this and I'll stop trying to break down the wall. That's been the deal from the beginning; let's keep it that way."
He grabbed her wrist, stopping her for a moment, "It's coming soon. There's nothing you can do to stop me. Your hero complex has to die at some point and it'll be soon."
"We'll just have to see about that now won't we?" She smirked before ripping free of his grip and leaving back to her physical body.
Jenna shot up, panting.
"Oh, thank god," Steve let out a sigh, pulling her back into his arms, "I was worried you wouldn't wake up this time."
"I always wake back up," She mumbled into his shoulder, "I'm always nervous you won't, Jen," He cupped her face in his hands, "You never know."
"This is me we're talking about. I never give up," She leaned into one of his palms, "We need to get ready for work now."
Steve and Jenna both reluctantly got up to get ready to go to WSQK. They were radio show hosts there with Robin and Alice. Well, Alice was more or less just coordinating everything with Murray and keeping plans in order than actually being a radio show host, but she didn't care. She just loved working with Robin. Jenna carried the radio with her as she made her way around their apartment. She'd learned pretty quickly that music was the only thing keeping Vecna from completely taking over her mind. She didn't have most of herself left, but that little piece that was still hers was valuable and she had to protect it. She was terrified to know what would happen if Vecna got ahold of all of her.
