OTM
I desperately needed a night out.
As a mom, I barely had time for myself so I was at the point where I would've been glad to go absolutely anywhere.
Thankfully the mom I met through basketball, Lala, invited me and my best friend Lauren to join her and her best friend Nia to go for drinks. I said yes so fast that I must've looked crazy.
I pretty much put my all into work and Carter after my divorce so I needed a good night out and I genuinely couldn't wait.
My best friend and I always got ready together so a couple hours before it was time to meet up Lala and Nia, I packed a bag with everything I'd need to get ready and drove over to her house.
We had a lot to talk about, especially after Beys antics the past week. She was the person I went to when I needed to vent, and I needed a chance to do that before we were around people. If anybody disliked Bey more than me, it was her.
She didn't live too far from me so I was there before I knew it and she was already in the doorway waiting for me because she loved to watch my location. She was in a robe and had her hair wrapped up so she must've just gotten out the shower.
I got out of the car with my bag and a big smile on my face. "Bestie!" We didn't see each other nearly as much as we'd like, so it was a big reunion everytime we saw each other.
I scurried up the driveway and gave her a big hug. "Ugh, I missed you."
"I missed you more." We separated and I let out a deep breath. "Life has been life-ing more than usual."
"Yeah, you need to tell me what that bitch did now." She rolled her eyes. "I'm already getting mad."
I laughed, "You might need a glass of wine for this one."
We went inside and she took my advice and got a glass of wine before we went upstairs. I was waiting until we got to the restaurant to drink so I passed.
As soon as we set everything out in the bathroom getting ready, I got right into it. "So Bey was over at the house overstaying her welcome per usual and doing her normal flirting... Guess who called her?"
She sighed and set down her flat iron. "I have a couple names in mind."
"Jaylah." I laughed even though nothing was funny. "Well, Jay now apparently."
Her eyes widened. "Huh? Please tell you chased her ass out."
"I just told her she had to go after Carter came back to show her and then went upstairs. Cussing her out would mean that I care, and I don't. It's just interesting that that's who she's choosing to spend her free time with." Especially when she had the option to see her son whenever she wanted.
She side eyed me and then went back to straightening her hair. "Girl, you know you care. That little ass girl was damn near her mistress."
The level of how at fault Bey was for our divorce is kind of a grey area. The way she likes it.
Somewhere during our divorce process, we were talking about maybe possibly getting back together just for her to turn around and fuck that girl. She told me immediately after but the damage was already done by then, and we've never been the same since.
"I don't care about Bey or anything she has going on unless it involves our son." I tried to speak firmly but I almost sounded like I didn't believe myself. "But whatever. That's not even all."
"Of course it's not."
"I texted her asking her if she would be able to pick up Carter so I could do everything I needed to do and take my time when I'm ready, and she automatically assumes it's because I'm trying to go on a date. I get irritated because who are you to be questioning me about anything in the first place? She was also trying to lie about what she had going on with Jaylah and you know how I hate being lied to, especially when I already know she's a slut."
