"Carter, come on! Your mom's waiting!"

Maraj blood made people perpetually late, and the only person who was later than me was my son.

I was usually right along with him but when it came to his basketball games, I tried to be on time. Especially with my ex wife always on my ass.

It took forever before he came running down the stairs in his uniform and basketball bag on his back. "Sorry, sorry! I don't know where the time went."

"Probably in that tv. Come on." I softly hit him upside the head when he reached me and then we went to the garage to leave.

We were already late so we quickly got in my Range Rover. My ex called me on the way but I declined her call, we were already on the way so there really wasn't much to say.

When we got there, I dropped Carter off at front so he could rush inside while I went to go park. He was always late so that was part of our routine.

I parked and took my time going inside because we were already late. And I wanted to piss my ex off.

I made it inside and somehow, we immediately made eye contact. Our son was getting ready to play basketball and she was more worried about me. Not surprising.

Her serious ass was wearing a blazer and button up, per usual, but today she at least wore it with jeans and left a couple buttons of her shirt unbuttoned. You could just tell she was a businesswoman just from how she dressed.

We were polar opposites and it couldn't be more obvious in the way we came dressed. I literally just had on a plain white long sleeve shirt and some tan linen pants. We were going to be sitting down for a while, it only made sense to be comfortable.

I got into the bleachers and tried to ignore the fact that she was looking at me, until I got a text.

bm. : Is it that hard to be on time? Genuine question.

bm. : You know what time his games are and I reminded you not to be late.

She was so annoying. We got here right before the game started, but we still got there before the game started so I didn't see the problem.

Our son had a talent when it came to basketball and she posted thousands for him to be in the league he was in, so I understood where she was coming to an extent, but this wasn't the NBA. It wasn't that deep. I rolled my eyes and then responded.

we made it right? :

right okay so stop texting me and watch :
your son warm up

The bubbles appeared and then disappeared again, so I looked over in her direction and saw her walking toward me.

I looked straight ahead at the kids getting ready to start their game and tried to ignore her incoming presence.

She sat down next to me but gave me an inch or two of space. "You know you look too good for me to stay mad at you."

I rolled my eyes and humorlessly chuckled. "Giselle, leave me alone."

Beyoncé Giselle Knowles was the biggest flirt I knew. She didn't even mean majority of the stuff she said, she just couldn't help that everything that came out of her mouth was flirtatious. But that was her problem.

"You know I could never."

"Shhh, the game's about the start." I was glad to have an excuse to stop talking about her.

To describe her in a few words, she was wishy-washy. One second she was a complete bitch and the next she was all smiles in my face trying to be cute. I couldn't do the inconsistency.
