•Chapter 23•

Amelia
"Did Niall and Zayn leave for the store yet? I need the shrimp in a second!" I ask and Harry chuckled "relax love, they're on their way now". I nodded and continued chopping up the potatoes "I've never seen such a tiny girl work so fast" Liam smirked. "You know what Payne...I'll fight you" I glared causing everyone to laugh.

"Okay Josh can you please clean up the living room? Liam would you please grab the extra silverware in the upstairs closet, Louis could you grab the wine in the bonus room closet. Don't ask why it's there just go, and Harry please finish these potatoes while I handle the carrots" I explain. "Oh bossy Amelia" Josh giggled and scurried away. "I want carrot duty!" Louis whined and I sighed "just go!" I mumbled.

"Sir yes sir!" Louis screeched before running away and I only rolled my eyes while grabbing the carrots. "Where are the girls?" Harry asked and I paused for a second "um...oh! They're with Kat and Sam getting ice cream". He laughed "that's some weight lifted off right?" He asked and I scoffed "two young girls out with Sam, I'd rather have them by themselves in Aliza's room".

Harry shook his head "you just need a break, all you do is give" he chuckled. I shrugged "what can I say? I'm a giver" I smirked and he nodded "yes you are. Now how do you want me to do this?". I sighed "do you just want me to hold your hand or do you actually need help cutting potatoes Harry?". He smirked at me cheekily "both...but mainly the first one" I rolled my eyes and walked over to him.

I laid my hand over his and tried to ignore the electric shock that shot through my arm. "Just dice it" I mumbled and showed him on the first potato. His head turned to face me and when I met his eyes, I finally realized how close we actually were. I watched his eyes flicker from my eyes down to my lips and I couldn't help but blush. Then he started to lean in.

"Hey I got the silverwa- oh..." I jumped and stepped away with an awkward clear of my throat. "Thanks Li" I smiled and walked over to take the silverware "no problem" he smirked and handed it to me. "Li?" He questioned and I feel like he was trying to kill the awkwardness but I nodded anyway. "Yeah, don't like it?" I chuckled and he shook his head "no it's fine, I like it" he laughed. I nodded and went back to the carrots.

I almost kissed Harry....and I wanted to.

"Amelia! You didn't tell us you had this many people over! We would have arrived earlier to help!" Renee whined. "Oh please! You're all guests! You shouldn't have to help with anything" I laughed. "You take after your mom...always pleasing others" she cooed and caressed my face. "Yeah well" I shrugged causing her to chuckle "well! Let's meet your friends! I'm the second approval you'll need besides your mom" she smirked. "Of course" I laughed and led the Philips parents into the kitchen where everyone was finishing up setting the table.

"Alright boys! This is Renee and Andy Philips, Josh and Kat's parents and my second set of parents. Mama and Papa Philips this is Liam, Harry, Niall, Louis, Zayn and this is Lilly, Aliza's best friend" I introduced. They all shook hands and smiled at one another before taking a seat.

What an interesting bunch of people...

"So Sam how have you been?" Renee asked as she pulled a chair out and took a seat. "I've been great! How about you Mrs. Philips?" She grinned. "Hold on, so you don't like Josh but like his parents?" Niall chuckled. "Oh I love his family! It's just Josh" she shrugged causing Josh's parents to laugh and Josh to glare. "What happened?" Liam asked curiously "I us-" "Nothing! I just don't like him!" Sam interrupted.

The boys looked at me and I gave them a wink telling them I'll fill them in later. "Mommy it's hot" Aliza whined as she set her spoon down and I couldn't help but smile. She's so well taught I forget she's even a year...it's really shocking. I grab her bowl and mix the gumbo, blowing on it, trying to get it cooled down.

"Oh my god Amelia!" Everyone groaned and I looked up "what? Is it bad? It's the chicken isn't it?" I panicked. "No!" They all yelled in unison "it's delicious!" Harry groaned "seriously, you aren't bad at anything" Kat whined as she took another bite. "Except fo-" "I swear if you and Josh make one comment on my clumsiness I'll kill you both" I glare at Sam and Josh.

"Really Honey you've got to give me the recipe" Renee grinned "I will" I laughed and set Aliza's food in front of her again. She happily dug in "yummy mommy!" She giggled before gulping another bite. "So you boys are a band?" Renee asked and they all nodded "yeah, we heard your daughter is a fan actually" Louis smiled and I saw Kat blush a deep red.

"Oh yeah! I remember now! Your faces are all over her room an-" "Mom!" Kat screamed and I couldn't help but snort. "Oh...sorry sweetie" Renee blushed and the boys chuckled "don't be embarrassed love! You're our friend now, you being a fan is only a bonus" Zayn smiled. Kat smiled and blushed deeper causing me to chuckle. The rest of the night we all talked and laughed and I got to catch up on what was happening back home.

It was a really good night for me.
