"Morning Doc......." A familiar voice called out as she examined the latest body that had been found down one of Gotham's many dingy alleyways.

"Morning Jim...What, no Harvey? I thought you two were attached at the hip like some old married couple....." Both the pathologist and the detective chuckling, as Jim crouched down next to her.

"Harv is here. He was just finishing his breakfast in the car. Didn't want to get crumbs all over the crime scene. So, what we got......?"

"Well, Detective Gordon. I would say that we have ourselves an undernourished twenty-five to thirty-five year old male. There are no obvious signs of trauma, not apparent wounds or traces of blood. What that and the lividity tell me, is that our boy died somewhere else, and the body was dumped here some time after death. And given the early stages of rigor, I would estimate that the time of death was between twelve and fifteen hours ago. There's nothing special about the clothes he's wearing, other than the fact that they've seen better days. The odour coming from him, and his general appearance suggests to me that he's been sleeping rough for some time. There's no form of identification on or around the body that I can find; but there is a rather unusual tattoo on his right forearm that might help to identify him. Other than that, I am afraid that you will have to wait until I get him on the slab and have a good rummage around..." She explained, before placing the sheet back over the John Doe, and then pulled of her latex gloves.

"Thanks doc. What would we do without you? You know if you hadn't become a doctor, I think that you would have made a great cop..."

"Oh, no. I am far better at dealing with dead people than live ones. The ones I work with tend not to talk back, for a start. Though I have heard stories from other people....." She chuckled to herself; recalling a story about another pathologist who had had a body on the slab, he just about to make the first incision, when the supposed dead guy sat up, as large as life.

"Morning Doctor (Y/n)........" (Y/n) and Jim turning to see Harvey walking towards them.

"Anything interesting.......?"

"Oh, look who has finally decided to deign us with his presence...Morning Harvey. Hard to tell if its anything interesting yet. Might just be natural causes, and this could be little more than a case of abuse of a corps; but I have this feeling that it might be something more....." A smile coming to her lips; both Jim and Harvey knowing that the doctor liked nothing more than finding something juicy to give them.

"Anyway, the boys are here with the gurney now; once I get him back to my palace, I'll run the usual series of tests, tox screen, etcetera, etcetera. And then I'll give you a ring when I'm all done...." Harvey smiling at her, before crouching down to look under the sheet; getting back to his feet and allowing the two men to remove the body from the scene.

"Well, as much as I would love to stay here and keep talking to the two best looking men in the Gotham Police Department; I am afraid that I have a few questions that only our John Doe can answer....." The doctor giving both of the men a flirty wink, before making her way over to the truck.

"Now that...that is what I call a woman...." Harvey said, taking the hat from his head and waving at (Y/n) as she left the scene.

"Smart.....beautiful.....funny......did I say beautiful.....?"

"Yes, you did, Harv. You say that every time you talk about (Y/n) And if you hadn't realised it, you happen to talk about (Y/n), a lot....." Jim told him, before making his way back to the car.

"What...? No, I don't......." Harvey objected; quickly catching up to his partner.

"Really....? Do you want to ask everyone else? I swear that she is the only thing that you have been able to talk about, since she started the job. (Y/n) this, Doctor (Y/l/n) that. Best pathologist ever. Smart cookie. And always.....always she is so beautiful..." Jim smiling over the roof of the car, before opening the door and climbing in.

Harvey leant against the car, thinking about what his partner had just said. He knew that he would talk about her, whenever he, Jim and the doctor would cross paths; but other than that.....The Irishman suddenly realising that Jim was right, that he did indeed have a habit of talking about the pathologist. But how could he not...? She was just so easy going, so down to earth; he feeling as if he had known her forever when they talked. She always offering a flirty wink before they parted. Harvey not able to believe his eyes when she had turned up at the last precinct Christmas party. He sure that his heart was about to stop when he had seen her in the form fitting dress; and even more, when she had kissed him on the cheek at the end of the night. He promising that he would say something to her in the New Year. That he would finally ask her out on a date. But, as always, work had got in the way. Gotham's crazies never seeming to rest. Though now.....he would be having to see her again once she had finished the autopsy. He would have a chance to speak to her about something other than work; so why not take the chance? The worst she could say, was no; and it wouldn't be the first time that he had heard that. Yet for (Y/n) he was willing to hope that this time would be different. Harvey putting his hat back on his head, before climbing into the car. Jim smiling as he turned to look at his friend.

"Want me to let you go and get the report by yourself when she calls.....?" The younger man asked, shaking his head when he saw the grin that pulled at the corners of Harvey's lips. He knowing that all he had to do was wait a few hours, and then take his chance, and hopefully the beautiful doctor would be his.
