Couple of days later...
"This yo' idea of a vacation?" I asked hearing her walk up behind me. While I stared into the distance.
We were near the Amalfi Coast, nothing but water and water for miles.
"I vacation here every year and to think my baby was only 5 hours away... it's scary."
I kept quiet so Beyoncé continued.
"You'll be surprised the memory that water holds. No matter how many years, the water always holds the truth and it could be such a beautiful thing. Most people stop right there, though." She paused looking at me. " they don't tell you that water can also bring great grief." She said as I nodded taking a sip of my drink.
"You really gone leave Jay?" I asked as she sighed.
"To tell you the truth? I don't know." She said as I smirked in knowing shaking my head.
"After your father, I grew an attachment to Shawn. Though I always knew deep down, who and what he is, I've seen him do so much good. I've seen how he treats our babies. And that? That was the man I fell in love with. And since I was so so young, I honestly don't know a life without him. But I don't wanna keep knowing life without you." She said as tears rolled down her cheek.
"Don't wage my happiness at the expense of yours." I said
"But, what does that mean? If I work on building him while building a relationship with you, you'll stay?" She asked as I shook my head.
"I didn't say that."
"Y/n...what do you want me to do?" She said in a defeated way.
"I don't WANT you to do anything. I can't MAKE you do shit. Like you told me ain't nothing that black and white. Sometimes people have to make hard decisions. I'm not gone make it for you."
"That's not fair." She said making me chuckle.
"My life wasn't fair." I said looking at her as a tear rolled down my cheek. " I was finally getting over it when you just HAD to find a way back in my life. I was FINE!"
