14. You put me through hell

Ryan Pov

She stands there looking at Chris speechless. She's plain beautiful, her piercings, her smile, her eyes, her everything. Everything! "Do you guys know each other?" Balz asks.

They stood there looking at each other. "Well then." Ghost mumbles. What if they dated before? Chris would have told us, right? Why do I care? I literally just met her minutes ago.

"Um, how are you?" Chris questions her, trying to break the tension. "Let's go talk outside." She says, walking outside, not waiting for him.

- Athena Pov -

He closed the door and we both walked down the porch steps. "It's been such a long time." I whisper, looking him in his eyes. He looks, hurt? "Yeah, I know." He murmurs.

He's changed his appearance, and it looks good, if I'm honest. "H-how have you been?" He questions again. I shrug my shoulders. "This past month fantastic, besides that, okay I guess." I tell him truthfully.

I doubt he cares, I'm just someone from his past, he shouldn't care. "Why just okay?" Chris asks. I felt the tears welling up in my eyes. Don't cry Athena. I never cry in front of people and I'm not starting now.

I look down to avoid his eye contact. "I guess I just missed you." I admit in a whisper. "Maybe you shouldn't have left." He says sternly, taking me off guard.

I look up and saw his expression on his face: mad. "Huh?" I question, maybe just a little hurt at his attitude. "You put me through hell Athena." He confesses, in a much softer voice tone.

"You don't think I was hurt by leaving?" I question, slightly raising up my voice. "If you were, you wouldn't have left in the first place, would you?" I scoff and roll my eyes.

He's making this much more complicated than it needs to be. "I had to do what I had to do okay? I'm sorry you were to clung up on me to see that." He laughs.

"Clung up on you? Yeah right! You were my friend and that's it! If you thought anything more than that then you're beyond fucking stupid!" He shouts, his words hurting me a shit load.

You were my friend and that's it. "Says the one who kissed me!" I yell, bringing up a memory that I didn't even know I remembered. "I was doing you a favor, God you're so dumb." He says shaking his head.

"You know what FUCK YOU! I'm glad I left or I would have dealt with your stuck up self!" I shout back and storm up the porch stops and into the house. How does he have the audacity to say that to me?

- Ryan Pov -

We all sit there when we heard Athena shout outside. "You know what fuck you! I'm glad I left or I would have dealt with your stuck up self!" She yells, then not long after storms in the house.

Everyone looks at her in shock. She ignores us and goes straight to her room. We all glance at each other in confusion. "I'll go talk to her." Ricky says getting up from the couch. He walks to her room. Does he like her?

- Ricky Pov -

I knock on her door waiting for her response but I didn't hear anything. I wonder what happened and what Chris did to hurt her. She doesn't look like the type to get hurt so easily.

Still no response so I slowly opened the door and peeked my head in. She was laying on her bed with ear buds in. A little figure laying next to her...a dog? It's pretty dark so I couldn't really tell.

I turned on the light to grab her attention. She shoots up and takes a ear bud out. "Hey." I say quietly. She gives me a weak and forced smile. "Can I come in?" She nods her head yes.

I closed her door and sat next to her on the bed. That's no dog, that's a kid. Her kid? "Is that your son?" I ask. She looks at him sleeping, smiles, and nods her head yes. "His name is Caleb." She tells me, still smiling at him.

"Why is he connected to that?" I question, pointing at the backpack that was laid out next to him. "It's his medican, he's sick." She answers, no longer smiling. "Sick? How sick?"

I'm probably asking to much questions but I'm curious. "Cancer." She replies in monotone, obviously hurting. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have asked." She shakes her head.

"No, no it's fine. Asking or not, he's still going to have it." That is true, I still feel bad I asked, she looks so hurt. When I look at him, he looks healthy, so that's good right?

I almost forgot the reason I came in. "So, what happened with you and Chris?" I ask, not trying to sound to forward. She quietly groans and lays back showing the emotions, hurt, mad, and annoyed.

"It's a long story." She tells me, sitting back up. I shrug my shoulders. "I have all night." I respond. She nods her head and trails off with the story..
