Hiyoshi found Ranfa at the outdoor tennis courts. He had a feeling that she would be here and he was right.
"I'm not interested in the social dance."
"And being here without your racquet is more fun?" Ranfa's question made Hiyoshi want to point out her hypocrisy but since he can see the mask of smile on her, he kept the comeback to himself so he wouldn't ruin the moment.
"I figured I would find you here."
"I see..."
"You don't have to fake it when I am here." He couldn't care less if another person was sad because he would always deem it as none of his business. If it's Ranfa the one who was sad, he would want to be the one to stop her from feeling the sadness even if she tried hiding it from everyone.
Ranfa said nothing as Hiyoshi pat her on the head. The tears started to flow for some reason and she just averted her eyes downwards as the tears land just in front of her feet.
"I just feel stupid, that's all."
"What is there to be stupid about? Here..." Hiyoshi pulled her into a hug and allowed her to cry against him.
"Hiyoshi...?"
"It's fine if it is like this, right?"
She tried to bite the tears back but the warmth of his embrace made it break out at once. She held the back of his shirt tightly, taking his unsaid offer and cried against him. Ranfa didn't think she would let out the overflowing feelings but she did. With words that's being choked out by her tearful emotions, Ranfa told Hiyoshi about how she thought she can take rejections strongly but she's actually weak at it. She started to apologize for looking so embarrassing in front of him and how she cannot be strong over something like this.
"I think..." Hiyoshi has never seen her as a weak person even if her face was stained with tears. In his eyes, she has always been a strong girl. "I think you are a strong person. You're crying right now but you are strongly voicing out your feelings, there's nothing wrong with that."
She never saw it that way at all; she only thought that putting up with the sadness and pretending to be okay was the only way to show others that she was strong about it. Has she been mistaken all this time? Admitting that you're sad and voicing it out can make you a stronger person?
"You don't see me as weak?"
"You're a lot stronger than anyone I know. Standing with pride or if you're down with tears, I still like you for who you are."
Hearing Hiyoshi's words made her smile and she let go of him and put her hands on his chest so she can put a small distance between them.
"You look better now." Hiyoshi was glad to see a smile on her face again. Whenever he was down with frustrations, Ranfa will be the one to bring him back up with confidence again. He always wanted to return the favor and now he can and he did.
She looked up at him with a small smile, "Ah. I'm fine now. Thank you. Sorry you had to listen to me cry..."
"It's nothing. I wanted to be there."
"I see..."
"Saku...Ranfa, I am not that person but I'll replace him and become the person in your heart." His confidence was something worth admiring.
Ranfa smiled at his words and she can't help but laugh out loudly, "Hahaha! Do your best, okay? I'll be nice and wait for you..."
"Mark my words then, you will be telling me those three words real soon."

~Extended Ending~
"Soon you will be leading Hyotei as the King so there is a lot to prepare."
Ranfa was at Hiyoshi's family dojo, watching him train. She was talking to him at the side, finding it interesting how focused he was in her presence.
The captain has the rights to choose a new manager or keep the manager but obviously Hiyoshi chose to have her stay by his side when he's there to take the throne. Obviously he was going to keep her by his side; he needed her.
"Did you listen to me at all?" Ranfa asked.
"No." He smirked when he saw the cute annoyed pout of hers. Her pouts were cute to him, second to her scared face.
"You..." She admired him for his daring honesty right there on the spot but that's not exactly the type of answer she was looking for.
"Don't look at me like that. We'll watch a movie together when I am done."
"What are we watching?"
"It is a movie about a man's wife is brutally murdered by a serial killer and his son is left physically disabled. In a twisted turn of events, his son is kidnapped at a school trip and is kidnapped. The man has to chase the kidnapper thousands of miles with the help of a forgetful woman."
Ranfa had no idea what to say because her jaws dropped at the level of violence and tragedy the movie has. Other than that, how can he say such gruesome details with a smile on his face?
"I am leaving." Ranfa got up from the floor and made her way to the sliding paper doors.
"You think I am going to let you get away with it?" Hiyoshi took a few strides and he pulled Ranfa back to him from the waist, "I thought you would enjoy the movie with me..."
"No."
"Are you running away?"
"Yes."
"You think I would let you?"
"You are horrible!"
"And who is the girlfriend of this horrible person?"
"...that would be me." Ranfa chuckled, "How I fell in love with you is a miracle in itself. I should stick to you so much that you will start to hate it." She looked at Hiyoshi and kissed him on the lips, smiling when he kissed her back.
"I was hoping you would do that." Words were not needed between kisses...
He doesn't care about the well being of others but he showed attentiveness when with her and he looked out for her a great deal.
Ranfa didn't think it was possible but she slowly fell in love with the boy who will take the throne once the 3rd years graduate. She moved on from the sadness because he picked her up from where she fell, just like the way she picked him up when he's at his worst.
It's a relationship where they both support each other no matter what happens...
"By the way, that movie I was talking about is Finding Nemo." Hiyoshi's smirk made Ranfa want to punch him but she lost the strength to do so when he suddenly planted a kiss on her cheek, "Next time, we are going to watch a movie of my choice. I'll go easy on you this time."
"Then I will just refuse to come to your place." Ranfa smirked back with a victorious look. Little did she know, this boy planned to show up at her place with the movie if she really resorted to her little plan...
