Now that they're back in Japan, both Ranfa and Atobe never ever mentioned anything about sharing a king-sized bed together. This will be their little secret and you will have to kill them to make them tell a soul. What happened in England will stay in England, they both shook on it and shook each other's hand in promise no words of it will be out in Japan.
Things have been pretty much normal...
"A joint school festival?" Ranfa was walking along the hall of Hyotei with Atobe, making their way to the tennis club.
"Yes. It is something I will unveil tomorrow to the others."
"Judging by the name, it sounds like you are going to invite other schools' tennis club to it... And you are telling me this because?"
"I want you to be our tennis club's school festival committee." Atobe didn't even hesitate to rethink who should take on such a role. He has known Ranfa for a while now and he can see just how capable she was to handle this and that. She's not overwhelmed by the fact that the club has nearly over 200 members, she's ruling it like a Queen!
"I don't mind but I will be strict."
"As usual."
"Then, what is today's meeting about?"
"It is about next year's captain." Ranfa looked at him when he said that; it's finally time to choose who will lead Hyotei to the Nationals next year. Ranfa will support the new King of Hyotei when Atobe and the others graduate. It's a little sad to know the others will go but she's prepared for it.
Atobe got the 3rd years main regulars into the club room and they started to discuss who was the better candidate to be captain. Should it still be the ingeniously creative Hiyoshi? Or the more co-operative Choutarou?
Ranfa was involved in the meeting too since she will be helping the future captain lead the team. She has already familiarized herself with the workload so there's no problem at all.
"Who is your choice?" Atobe asked them.
"With Choutarou, there's absolutely not enough talent to lead. In other words, not enough leadership. If I were to choose, it would be Wakashi..." Everyone was surprised Shishido would say that.
"I agree with Shishido-senpai. When it comes to counter-attack, Hiyoshi has grown calm like ice and strike with fire whenever he has the chance. That is what we need as a captain. Ootori is still lacking in that department."
"'It would be Wakashi' is what I would have said about half a year ago but that guy's growth has been noticeable lately. And I am not only talking about his techniques, his mentality has improved as well so Choutarou is enough for me." Shishido was smiling with great pride when talking about his taller kouhai, "I think he'd make a great captain. Sakura, you have notes on Choutarou's progress, right?"
"Hmm, if we look at it this way, he has improved himself greatly like you have said. I bet Ootori will put up a better fight against Hiyoshi now. Well, I don't mind either way; I will be there to support whoever is the next King."
"In other words, it doesn't matter who the King is next year?" Atobe asked her.
"Because I am still here to play a supportive role." Ranfa assured him, "When it comes to support and planning tactics, I won't lose."
"Heh, that is nice to hear." Atobe dismissed them and told them to prepare for practice with the 2nd years.
"Sakura, can I talk to you?" Shishido called out to her.
"Hm? Sure."
Gakuto declared a race against Jirou and they were both gone already. Oshitari and Atobe were taking their time to go back.
