Chapter 10

Saying out loud

Me and Carlisle -after we phased back- started to gather the body parts so we could burn them. We did this in an uncomfortable silence I knew that he really wanted to ask me why I reacted the way did. I was surprised that he didn't figure it out yet. When we were done he threw a lighter on to the top of the pile. The parts instantly caught on fire. Purple and grey colored smoke floated in the air. The smell was too sweet to my sensitive nose and I backed away from the pile with Carlisle.

The plan was that we wait for the others to come back, after that we will go home and dicuss what happened. We sat under a tree and looked how the body parts burned down.

Carlisle wanted to talk but he didn't know how to start it so after 2 hours of awkward silence finally the others arrived. Jasper phased back and told us what happened. Everything went smoothly. The vampires packed up and left the state.

We all ran back like wolves. When we arrived we phased back just as Esme and Alice rushed out and jumped on their imprints.

"What the hell did you think? Do you know how worried we were? You sent us a text message telling us to don't worry." Esme said angrily but also relived that we were okay.

Carlisle chuckled. "I am sorry darling, but we are okay."

"What happened?" Alice asked as we entered the dining room that we often used when we needed to talk about family matters.

I tensed because I knew the others will attack me with their questions. I didn't know how I could anwser them. I didn't want them to find out, they would push me even if they knew of my past. I knew they didn't see each other or themselves as monsters but I couldn't help myself. I clenched my fists because of the memory. I hurt the only one that I swore I never would. That's the reason I saw myself as a monster who wasn't worth of love. I had even had a hard time to accept my families love at the beginning too.

We all sat down and Carlisle started to explain what had happened. "We met them and agreed that they could leave the state peacefully. But Jacob started to insult the girl and Edward lost his temper and attacked him." The wolves looked at me with a questions in their eyes while Esme and Alice gasped. "He tore out his arm and threw Leah off of himself then bit out a big part of Jacob's side. I ordered him back, but we were already too deep in it so I let the others finish them." Esme and Alice were listening with wide eyes. "After that James and Victoria left the state without any problem." After he was done heavy silence filled the room. Everybody was thinking about the previous events. Occasionally looking at me with question filled eyes. Expect Alice who already connected the dots. She looked at me with a small smile and nodded, letting me know that I did the right thing.

I heard Jasper sigh in annoyance as he looked at me in the eyes. "Okay Edward, I had enough. Why did you lost your temper like that? You had better control like most of us. Why lose it because of something like that?"

Everybody nodded agreeing with him and wanting answers. "Why all of you look so surprised? The guy lost it in a school. Anyone could have seen him. And he almost killed an innocent. And then when he got away with it, he rubbed it in our face." I growled when I remembered how he rubbed it in our face.

"It was different Edward." Jasper said with a stern voice.

"He is right Edward you wouldn't lose your temper over something like that. Especially after what happened in the past." Carlisle spoke up.

"Why can't you guys understand that I just simply slipped. It happened to all of you!" I said a little bit louder. And I realised that I wasn't referring to the fact that I lost my temper but that they imprinted.

"Oh, come on Edward! We know you! So don't give us this bullshit!" Emmett said losing his patience. Sitting beside him was Rose who was looking annoyed and thoughtful at the same time.

"He is right Edward. We heard your thoughts when you attacked him. There was more behind it, but you wouldn't think about it. But there was something." She stated it with confidence.

"I don't know what are you talking about." I replied lamely.

They all opened their mouths, ready to argue but Esme stopped them. "Everybody, enough! If Edward doesn't want to talk about it he doesn't need to." Everyone shut their mouths after that. For like 5 seconds because they couldn't control their curiosity. They started to speak at the same time, asking questions. That's when I heard Alice voice for the first time since we stepped in the dining room.

"Dammit Edward! Just tell them already!" She shouted standing up. As the words left her mouth her eyes went wild with shock and slammed her hands over her mouth.

The others looked at me waiting me to spill my guts out. And I didn't feel comfortable. They didn't let me keep my secret and let me deal with it. No they had to get in my head when I wanted to deal with it alone. I glared at Alice as I turned to the others. I knew there was no chance to get away with this anymore, so I took a deep breath and just said it.

"I imprinted."
