Carlisle

I stepped in the clearing, into his sight. When he noticed me he ran up to me and hugged me around my neck tightly. "Thank goodness." He whispered.

I looked at him with a cofused look. He gave me a tired smile. "After you stormed out everyone thought that we had pushed you too hard and you left for good." How could they think that? Okay, yeah, I was really upset but I wouldn't leave them because of something like that. But before I could think more about it I started to struggle to keep my eyes open, the lack of sleep getting at me.

Carlisle noticed that I got slightly heavier in his arms so he pulled me to the garage. "Come on son let's get you cleaned up." I looked over myself and noticed my fur was covered in mud and several twigs and leaves were stuck in it. He got the leaves and twigs out then he hold up a sprinkle with an evil smirk. My eyes went wide but before I could step away he poured cold water all over me. I yelped and jumped back, colliding with a shelf and bucket fell onto my head. I whined and looked up to my father from under the bucket. He smiled apologetically at me.

"Sorry son but you needed a bath." I grumbled in response. He chuckled and lifted the bucket. He patted my head in a fatherly way and it reminded me when we first met. I had just ran away from home and I was in the forest at La Push in my wolf form. He was out there when he found me as a lost puppy fighting with depression. He helped me then and now.

I gave him my wolf grin and shook the water out of my fur on him. He laughed as he stepped away from me. "Okay I think I deserved that." He went over to a pile of clothes and put them in front of me. "Here are some clothes for you." He left the garage to give me some privacy. I changed back and put the clothes on quickly.

I sank down outside the garage against a wall enjoying the fresh air. Carlisle came up to me bringing me some milk. "I thought it would help you sleep." I smiled and took the glass.

"Thanks, but I think I would need something stronger than this." I said without thinking.

Carlisle frowned at me. "Edward, what are you thinking? Don't shut out us anymore Son. Please. You never even considered taking medicine from me for your sleeping problems." He looked really worried.

"I am not shutting you out." I said ignoring the other parts of his speech.

Carlisle sighed and rubbed my shoulder. "Edward you always fought with your inner demons alone. But you don't need to, not anymore. We are here for you even if we are not enough to heal your wounds. But I am sure Bella will make you feel truly happy again. She will heal you and help you to fight down your demons." He said squeezing my shoulder. "I want to see you truly happy for once Edward."

I looked at him but shook my head. "I-I can't Carlisle. I mean, look at me. I am broken. She deserves better than this. In this mental state I am not even sure I am safe for anyone." I wispered as I looked down to the glass between my hands.

My father shook his head. "Bella is your only cure Edward. She could heal you an make you happy."

I pulled on my hair with one of my hands. "No she could have so much better. And please can we talk about this after you give me some magical drugs so I can sleep." I gave him my best pleading look I could manage in that moment.

He let out a sigh but nodded. Relief washed over me. I was used to being tired but right then I was so drowned that I had a headache, my eyes stung and my mind wanted to rest. I wanted a little escape, finally getting some sleep without nightmares. But then Carlisle held up his hand. "Only if you tell me why is the sudden change about the medicines." I groaned as my shoulders hunched in defeat.

"You are worse then Alice." I rubbed my face and sighed. "The nightmares got worse." Carlisle took in a sharp breath.

"How much worse?" He said and I heard the distress in his voice.

"You know my nightmares right?" I knew he knew about what were they like so I didn't wait for his answer. "This night didn't attack any of you, I-I attacked.." I felt the lump in my throat tighten. "I attacked Bella, Carlisle! Bella! I helplessly watched how I attcked her! I couldn't protect her from myself, from anything! I am just going to hurt her!" I felt tears in my eyes. Then Carlisle hugged me, I tensed up from it a little at first but then relaxed. He didn't say anything just held me as I let out the stress of the previous 24 hours. It was insane how many things happened.

Before my break down I was already exhausted mentally, now I just felt numb. I went up to my room and lay down on my bed and Carlisle brought me some medicine to help me sleep. I gratefully took them.

After 5 minute I felt sleep overtaking my body. I gladly accepted it. Last thing I registered was Carlisle wishing me good dreams.

After that finally everything went dark and quiet.
