Wolf vs Time

My breathing became faster as I followed Bella's scent. I tried to ignore the vampires' and only focusing on finding her. Counting the vampire scents I realised they were a lot of them probably 10 or more and I was sure that I smelled fresh human blood too.

I was anxious to find her before the vampires did. It was like a race against time and I knew that I was losing. Her scent was too good for vampires to just ignore it.

But to my relief Bella's scent got stronger and to my horror another one also. It was a vampire's. And it was heading towards the exact direction where she was.

After some time I heard them. I was just around the corner when I heard Bella's ragged breath and someone taking deep ones. As I entered the street none of them noticed me. The monster was too obsessed with my angel's scent and she was frozen in fear. She was pushed up against the wall by her shoulders. Her heart beat was frantic and her breathing was fast. Her eyes were locked with the predator's.

I quickly assessed the situation. If I acted fast and surprised the vampire I could win without phasing. Of course if it was necessary, I would let out the wolf in me, not caring if Bella saw it. She just needed to be safe.

I leapt over silently, keeping in the shadows. When the vampire leaned closer to her throat I sprinted out of my hiding place and attacked the surprised bloodsucker. I grabbed him by his neck and pushed him up against the oposite wall of where Bella was. He was a probably two months old, he didn't know how to fight and luckily didn't know how strong he really was. And it also helped that he was scared shitless.

My hold on him was firm so I let myself to have a quick glance at Bella. She was leaning against the wall probably for support, but she was sinking down slowly. Her eyes were wide as she looked at me. And I saw that trustful look in her eyes like in the dreams. I smiled warily at her then turned back to the monster.

"Who are you?" My voice was sharp and steady as I asked him. I didn't want to do this in front of Bella but I wouldn't let her out of my sight again. When the bastard didn't answer I slammed his head against the wall, making a cracking sound. Unfortunately it wasn't his head.

"Diego." He hissed.

"Who changed you?" His eyes went wide with shock that I had a clue about what he was. "Oh yeah, I know and I know a lots of more things about your kind." I leaned closer to his ear and whispered. "Like how to make you truly dead." I said in a deadly voice. I saw fear in his eyes. He tried to escape so I put almost all of my strength on his neck and I heard a little galss breaking noise. He hissed in pain and went limp. I wasn't stronger then a vampire when I was human, but if I tried I could kill him. After 100 years of living and fighting with them I learned a few tricks against them. The hollow at the base of the throat was a weak spot. With this knowledge and the vampire being inexperienced and frightened, the advantage was on my side. If I got this right I could kill him without phasing. "So if you want to continue your pathetic existence, you need to answer some of my questions." He held my gaze for a few moments then tried to escape. I pushed him back harder and let out a growl. "Who created you?" I asked while trying to control my shaking. I reminded myself that Bella was there behind me, that helped a little.

"She had long red hair. She is taller then the girl. And she has blood red eyes like me." He was spilling his guts out, fearing for his life. Just what I needed. I looked back at Bella, making sure she was still there alive and breathing. "Her name is Victoria." I growled at the name. James mate was coming back to revenge him. I didn't take his threat seriously at that time, but now I realised that that had been a mistake. A huge one.

"What did she tell you?" I asked.

"She said that she wants to revenge someone. And that's why she changed us all. To help her. She said we were her army." He said in a rush.

"What is her plan?" I asked impatiently. Not wanting to meet other vampires.

"We are planning to attack two weeks from now. She didn't tell us who we will attack though, just that the main aim would be a human girl."

"How many are you? And where is your base?"

"I don't know maybe 12 or less. We are killing each other. Her plan is an army of 20 vampires. Are base it's just outside of Seattle." There were no questions left. Victoria was planning to attack us to revenge her mate's death by killing my Bella. Who was looking at me with so many emotions that I couldn't read much of them. As I looked at her I saw in her expression that she realised what I was about to do. I was ready to get rid of the guy.

She nodded a little and turned away to the wall covering her ears. I sighed and looked back to the vampire. "I am sorry but the girl who you were planning to kill is my life and I won't let any chance of daneger to come near her." I said, putting pressure to the weak spot and I put all my strength in it and crashed his throat. With my other hand I grabbed his hair pulling on it forcefully and I was satisfied when I heard the glass shattering sound, which meant that he was dead.
