Awake

I woke up in the afternoon. I was relaxed and contact. It felt good to rethink the yesterday's events with a clear head.

When I woke up Esme was sitting next to my bed. She was looking at my face with concern. No doubt, Carlisle told her what kind of shape I was in when I got back.

I stretched and rubbed my eyes, I sat against the headboard. "Morning." I yawned. When I didn't hear any answer I looked up. I saw Esme's lips trembeling. I shook my head and reached my hand out her. "No, no, no, Esme don't cry please. I am fine." This time anger flashed in her eyes.

"Fine? Fine!? Edward Anthony Mason Cullen! Don't you dare telling me you are fine!" She yelled at me while angry tears were rolling down on her cheeks.

"Hey, hey I am okay. Just a lot of happened yesterday. I needed time." I tried to convice her.

She looked into my eyes searching for something. I think she found it because she hugged me tightly. "Sorry Son. I was just really worried. You really didn't need us telling you what to do. Unfortunately we realised that too late." She whispered.

"It's okay" I reassured her.

Above Esme's shoulder I saw Carlisle enter the room. Esme noticed I wasn't looking at her anymore, so she stood up and rubbed her eyes. Carlisle smiled at us then turned to Esme.

"Darling why don't you make some food for Edward? I am sure he is starving." At the same time my stomach rumbled, they chuckled.

"Oh, how could I forget?" Said Esme as she hit her forehead. "Don't worry Edward, I quickly make you something for dinner." She said as she hurriedly left my room.

"Dinner?" I frowned and looked at Carlisle. He just nodded and confirmed that it's already six o' clock. I was out for 12 hours? It was unusual from me to sleep that much without waking up.

"How was your sleep? Any nightmares?"

"It was good, I don't remember anything." I shrugged.

He nodded. "Do you need pills tonight?"

"I don't know yet." I said and the nightmare flashed before my eyes. I shuddered.

Carlisle expression was full of concern as he observed my face. "Don't hesitate to ask, Son." He pleaded. I nodded and he left so I could get ready.

The shower helped me to wake up. After I was dressed I ran downstairs to attack the kitchen. I didn't notice how hungry I was until Carlisle mentioned food. When I passed the living room I saw Emmett, Rose and Alice watching TV. When Alice noticed me she squealed and hugged me. I hugged her back then looked at the two wolves.

"Hey Edward." Rosalie patted my shoulder with a small smile. Standing behind her was Emmett who was looking me over. When he met my eyes he grinned at me.

"Wow Eddie, you look like shit." I rolled my eyes and Esme shouted from the kitchen. "Language!"

"You too Emmett but I will get better." I grinned at him and he grimaced. "And don't call me Eddie." I said more seriously. Then turned around to continue my journey to the kitchen. I was so hungry that I found appetising the pillows on the sofa.

Alice came with me while the other two stayed behind.

"Where's Jasper?" I asked noticing that my cowboy brother was nowhere.

"He went out to patrol." I nodded. I set down one of the stools in the kitchen, Alice sat next to me and we watched Esme cooking.

I looked over my sister she looked exhausted, just like everyone. "Why are you so tired? Why all of you are tired?"

She looked at me like I was insane. "We waited for you to came back but eventualy all of us passed out at a point. Expect Carlisle, of course."

"You didn't have to do that." I said shaking my head. "Anyway why did all of you thought I would leave?"

Alice sighed. "We didn't think that you would leave us, we just didn't wanted you to be alone when you got back." She said with sadness in her eyes.

"Oh, well thank you." I said and smiled at her. She smiled back and hugged me again.

When she let me go we sat back. "What are you going to do now?" That was a very good question.

I shook my head and shrugged. "I don't really know." I wispered looking ahead.

"I think you should tell her." I was about to protest, but she held up her hand and shook her head. "Listen I know that you think, that it is insane and how could she love a 'monster' like you and all that shit you so stubbornly think it's true." She rolled her eyes and I hissed at her. "But Edward do you really think you can let her go?" I nodded without thinking, she just sighed and continued. "Really? Imagine it Edward. Imagine her with someone else..." She trailed off, looking at me. I did as she asked and I wasn't expecting the pain that hit me on the chest. It felt like a van crashed into me with top speed, then someone craved out my heart from its usual place. I gasped and rubbed my chest where it felt like was a gapping hole. Meanwhile Alice was looking at me knowingly.

Sometimes I really hate the pixie.
