Chapter 44

-ELEANOR'S POV-

The reception hall was huge, half full of white round tables, the other half a dance floor accompanied by a DJ. The DJ announced the new couple and they strutted in and took their place in the center of the dance floor as the music slowed for their first dance. The lights were dimmed and the whole room just felt warm and cozy. All eyes were on my aunt and her new husband, sharing this moment with them.

My head lay on Ryan's shoulder again, it felt nice there. He then stepped behind me and wrapped his arms around me while kissing my cheek. We slowly rocked back and forth to the tempo of the slow song until it ended and the party music started. Some people went to the buffet, others to the open bar or tables.

"I have to pee!" I told Ryan.

"Then go!" he replied.

I scurried of towards the bathroom that was so elegant I hated to pee in it! A ton of marble and crystal surrounded me.

When I got back to the reception hall I spotted Ryan, dancing on the side of the dance floor with, of course, my little cousin Ari. He held her with one arm and held her hand out with his. I could hear her giggling when he would randomly tickle her, making her squirm. I watched them for a bit, I've never seen Ryan around kids before.

They spun around, I would smile every time I heard Ari laugh. Ryan's face was filled with glee. I wondered what kind of dad he'd be like, I pictured us having kids one day and loved the thought, but not now, it's too soon.

He soon spotted me a couple yards away and got Ari's attention and pointed at me.

"Ellie!!" she squealed running and jumping into my arms.

"Hey there kiddo, you've gotten SO big!" I smiled picking her up as Ryan walked over, still looking fine in his tux.

"You look so beautiful, look at your curls!" I gasped. She blushed and buried her face in my neck giggling again.

"I've mwissed wou!" she pouted. I kissed her nose, "I missed you to you pretty girl."

"Ari! Don't be stealing my girlfriend!" Ryan teased.

"Now now Ryan! Sharing is caring," I laughed kissing him quick.

"Yuck!" Ari interrupted.

"You will wanna kiss someone when you're older," I said.

"Boys are gross!" she shouted. Ryan, offended, put on his pouty face and started to walk away.

"Noooooo! RyRy stay here!" Ari cried.

"I'm beginning to think you like him more than me!"

"You might have some competition El!" Ryan said quickly before scooping her out of my arms and setting her down still holding her hand. They ran away to the dance floor, Ari could barely walk because she was giggling to hard! My boyfriend ditched me for a toddler... I walked after them, Ari saw me and got wide-eyed telling Ryan to run! I started to walk faster and that's when I bumped into a mysterious man.
