-ELEANOR’S POV-

The elevator seemed to be moving again. The lights flickered on and we stood up. “Are we going up or down?!” Ryan shouted holding onto me like I was the last pair of Ray Bans. But then we stopped again, and a man’s voice came over the speaker.

“Sorry for the technical difficulties due to the storm, Mr. Follese and Ms. Evans! The elevator is up and running again, have a nice day!” A second static loomed after his announcement then the elevator finally brought us to our floor. We exchanged looks and gathered our luggage.

The door opened to our familiar hallway and Ryan suddenly grabbed my shoulders and kissed me quick.

“What was that for?” I giggled.

“WE’RE ALIVE!” he proclaimed. I laughed with him and we hurried down to the boys’ condo. We burst through the door, taking in the open space and air.

“Where have you guys been?!” Ian smirked.

“We got stuck in the damn elevator!” I said.

“Oh my god are you serious?!” Molly laughed.

“Seriously, Ryan got pretty scared…” I teased, ruffling his hair.

“That explains why Beary made an appearance,” Jamie snickered, motioning to the teddy bear in Ryan’s hand.

“Don’t make fun of him!” he yelled and ran to his room, to put him away I guessed.

“You should sue!” Ian said.

“No way, it wasn’t their fault, maybe we’ll get free movie channels,” I winked.

“I will demand it, we almost died,” Ryan declared coming into the living room again. It was still raining but not as heavy, no more lightning nor thunder. We were all sitting on the comfy couch and chairs now.

“There’s nothing to do!” Nick shouted to the silence.

“How about we have a girls night and you boys can have a guys night?” Molly suggested. We all nodded and voiced our agreement.

“But I’ll miss you,” Ryan said to me.

“We were just stuck in an elevator together for over an hour!”

“So?” he smirked kissing me.

“Ryan, you’re pathetic,” Molly teased. “Boys have to leave now, bye!”

The boys groaned as the got up and walked across the hall. “Do something fun!” I called after them.

Molly shut the door and turned to us. “We’re going out tonight!”

“Where?” Nick giggled.

“We’ll just get a drink or two, then come home and do girly things!” Molly cheered.

“Sounds good, but we should probably change,” I laughed looking at our pajamas. The sun was close to setting when we walked up the stairs to my closet.

-RYAN’S POV-

We across the hall and slumped down on the furniture again.

“I want to do something, but I’m too lazy to do anything,” Jamie said into the couch cushion.

I sighed. “Same.”

“We could write some music?” Nash suggested.

We all threw down that idea.

“Oh my god I just got the best idea ever!” I yelled.

“What?” they questioned. Just then there was noise in the hallway. We all ran and opened our door to see what the girls were up to. They’re dressed nice, heading down the hall.

“Where are you guys going?” Ian shouted after them.

“To get a drink, be back in an hour or so!” Eleanor yelled back as the elevator doors slid shut. I was surprised she wasn’t reluctant to go back in the elevator, after the mishap earlier.

“Perfect, let’s go when they’re gone!” I say.

“Go where?” Jamie asked.

“To get some post-it notes!” I smirk. I just really liked surprising Eleanor, to see her smile and get an extra kiss. Maybe is was manipulating, but it was driven by love, I promise.

-ELEANOR’S POV-

We went to a small cozy bar and chatted over some drinks and fries. It was only drizzling outside when we arrived. But when we left, only the wet streets and sidewalks showed evidence of rain. The scent still loomed in the air as we strolled home an hour later. The sun was just peeking in the sky, the dark night coming in the opposite part of sky.

We were laughing for who knows what reason as we walked into the lobby.

“I’m going to go to my condo and take a shower before anything else tonight!” Nick  said.

“We’ll walk you to your floor!” Molly said. We rode the elevator to Kelsey’s floor and kept talking until we reached her door.

There was a single bright green post-it note just hanging there with a message scrawled on it in messing handwriting;

Nick,

Open this door, but only you!

Send the others up a floor or two!

-J

We all read the note and stood back. We just kinda stared at each other not knowing what to do.

“Well I can’t open my door until to leave!” Nick said pointing to the note.

“Oh right! See you later!” I said and Molly and I ran to the elevator and up to our own floor, where one pink and one yellow post-it note hung on our door too.

I took the yellow one down and read it;

Eleanor,

I love you for many reasons…

Open the door and you’ll see what I mean!

-RK ;)

Molly’s note said something similar I assumed because we both reached for the handle and pushed open the door and gasped.
