THIRD PERSON POV
-4 years later-
She laid still on the couch, trying to stay awake for his arrival. Eleanor could tolerate his constant touring, but sometimes it was hard being alone. But Molly and Nick would come over often. She had to stay awake, but her eyelids kept shutting even though it was only 8pm.
Ryan came through the front door of their new house quietly. He set his bags and suitcases in the foyer and walks through the rooms.
“Eleanor?” he says. He goes into the living room to see her fast asleep on the couch. He goes over to her and kneels. His fingers trace over her smooth cheek, tucking a hair behind her ear. Her eyes flutter a bit and examine his face. Then suddenly they’re in each other’s arms.
“God I’ve missed you,” he says into her hair. Everything still feels electrifying, every touch, kiss, and embrace. Her head snuggled into his chest; he lets out a contented sigh. They stand there, his hands soothingly rubbing her back, her arms tight around his neck. They haven’t even kissed yet and already the feel safe again.
She leans back to look at him. Her hands hold his face as if to see if he’s really there. Both their eyes close as their lips finally touch. It’s been too long! Kissing and smiling at the same time, letting out little laughs when someone’s neck is nuzzled and kissed.
Little footsteps running down the wood floored hallway belong to the one year old waddling over to them.
“Daddy!” she cries jumping into his waiting arms.
“You’re supposed to be in bed Annabelle!” Eleanor laughs. Ryan kisses his daughter on the cheek and she says, “I missed you daddy.”
Ryan and Eleanor both were hoping for a girl. It was an easy pregnancy surprisingly. Just the memory of Ryan looking upon their daughter for the first time with a tear in his eye still made Eleanor smile to herself. It was as if she was gold. And the second night Annabelle was home, when Eleanor was woken by her cries. She sat up but Ryan wasn’t there. The crying stopped and when she walked into the baby’s room, there was Ryan singing to their little girl in the rocking chair. A beautiful man sat with a tiny baby on his chest now sleeping again. Ryan noticed Eleanor in the doorway and winked.
“And I missed you sweetheart.”
This story started with a broken girl and cocky guy both in Nashville. Many people aren’t lucky enough to find their true soul mate. But everyone knew that Ryan and Eleanor were made for each other. The way they looked into each other’s eyes after all this time together, never getting bored of one another. Every kiss still felt like the first time. Every “I love you” spoken from one of them reminded the other that they were safe and happy.
They still slow danced late at night, randomly with or without music. They took family trips to their special lake that held too many memories to count. Those rare fights over stupid little things always ended with kisses and compromising. The made it a priority to never go to bed mad.
Fate brought a boy and a girl together, destiny fulfilled; they live for each other.
After overcoming every obstacle thrown at them, it is easily known that their love is forever unstoppable.
