"Hi, I'm Caleb."
So that's Caleb. Now I know why Mindy was yelling at me. He looks like a Caleb, it suits him. He wore black all-stars, dark jeans and a leather jacket. His whole demeanor screamed "Bad Boy". I was so focused on my analysis that I didn't notice the group of girls approaching him.
"Hi, Caleb. I'm Mindy, why don't you come over with me and sit with us?" She purred while practically giving the boy a lap dance right then and there. Her minions acting just as promiscuous as their leader. Their skimpy outfits moved up a little more than usual, leaving pretty much nothing to the imagination.
"Yeah, Milly was it? I'll pass, but I'll see you later yeah?" He winked at her and put on a charming smirk, while slowly slipping his arm out of Mindy's grasp, trying to not touch her. Her face fell for a second, showing her disappointment then morphing into a deep scowl before going back to flirty.
"Oh, come on. It's not like there's anywhere else better to sit at." She motioned to the rest of the cafeteria glaring at anyone who might call him over, then turning back to Caleb batting her eyes. He immediately turned to look at me as she looked at him.
"Agree to disagree." He sauntered out of the ring of girls and walked straight to me and Maya. His eyes never leaving mine as he walked across the room. Every pair of eyes following hi every moving.
"He can't possibly be sitting with her..."
"Does he not know what she is?"
"He'll come to his senses before he sits down, just watch..."
I heard the whisper multiplying at a constantly increasing rate. And here I thought this school couldn't get worse. He walked with grace and dominance as he walked towards me and sat down next to me, slinging his arm on the side of the booth behind me. His leg touching mine for a slight second before he moved over an inch. I could feel little sparks on my thigh even at a distance from him. Surely he just shocked me for the hell of it, I'm just imagining the sparks.
He sat down looking right at me with a smirk on his face. My mouth agape as I watch him make possibly the biggest mistake of his life. Maya sitting across from us staring shock as he moves closer to me.
He leans over my neck and whispers in my ear "I'm Caleb. I don't think we've been formerly introduced." His husky voice sending shivers down my spine as I tried to compose myself before speaking.
What the hell are you doing! He can't have this kind of effect on you! Don't give in!
With new found confidence and determination, I sit upright and place a glare on my face. "What are you doing here? Didn't you get the idea from all the whispering on your way over here? We're the outcasts. Why are you here?" I said with so much anger in my voice I surprised myself when it came out, thanking the heavens I didn't stutter. I caught a glimpse of Maya, her mouth wide in shock at my words, but I didn't know why. Everyone knew I had a big mouth that would always get me in trouble.
"I'm here because you're here." He replied instantly.
"Yeah, well you are unwanted here. All you're doing is attracting unwanted attention to us and we'll end up having to face the wrath of Mindy."
"Who, Missy? She seems harmless." I couldn't help but laugh at that, my lungs gasping for air as my stomach clenched. Maya joined me and we could here snickers here and there from the nosey students listening to our conversation.
"Ha! Mindy is far from harmless. The only reason you think she's not evil is because one you are hot which automatically makes you popular in her eyes, two you are new so you don't know anyone or any rumors, and three it's only your first day, you haven't had any conversations with her to figure her out. Mindy Bauheart has been the sole reason why the entire school hates me."
"So, what I'm hearing is... you think I'm hot?" He had a smug look on his face that just made me want to kiss it off. Wait what? Kiss it off? Where the hell did that come from?! It made me want to SLAP it off! There we go.
I had been gazing at his lips during my internal battle for too long, not noticing how close he was getting or how quiet the cafeteria was until I felt his breath on my face. As soon as I felt his minty breath I snapped out of my daze and tried to move back but his arm was around my waist, keeping me pinned down.
Panic set in as I felt his lips brush mine, and before anyone understood what happened, I pushed him off and punched him in the stomach. He doubled over in pain as I pushed him out of the booth. Everyone's mouth hung open. I chose to ignore the baffled stares as I stepped out of the booth with my bag on my arm and crouched over him.
"How about you don't do that again, 'kay?" I said with the peppiest, most girlish, high pitch squeal I could muster and with that I strutted out of the cafeteria, hearing Mindy's cry.
"Baby, are you okay? I can't believe that behemoth did that to you!" Her annoying high pitched voice slowly fading away as I walk through the double doors, hearing them close with a click.
I'm wearing a smirk wider than the Joker's. Until I realize I had Chemistry next period.
Ugh! Kill me God! Let me go home to my bed.
