So this is the last chapter before the epilogue.
I just want to thank all of you guys for everything. Your support, votes, comments, and love have been so helpful and I appreciate each and every one of you. You guys are incredible readers and I'm so thankful for all of you. Thank you all for being on this journey with me helping and encouraging me throughout the story. I couldn't have asked for anything better.
When I first created a Wattpad account I never thought I'd be here. I've always had an interest in writing stories but I never thought I'd show them to anyone.
It has also come to my attention that I skipped a chapter on accident. So go check that out it's labeled Homecoming! And it'll explain a lot I think. So sorry this is really embarrassing.
Love you guys so much!
~Alice

I watched Trevor's body hit the hard concrete ground. The blood began to pool around him as he choked on his own blood. He gripped his stomach in pain, a futile attempt to stop the blood. A smile graced my lips as realization dawned on me.
I shot him. I actually finally shot him. He was going to die tonight and I was finally free. I turned to Kayla and the smile quickly faded. She stood straight up, in shock, looking up at me with blood starting to fall from her lips.
"Kitty Cat?" She asked, choking slightly on her blood. "I don't feel so good." Her eyes rolled and her legs gave out. I ran to her, tears falling, and caught her. My eyes shifted to the blood staining her shirt and I held her in my lap as I pressed on the wound, desperately trying to stop the blood.
"You're going to be okay, baby. I'm going to get you out of here." I smiled through the tears, rocking her back and forth. Caleb joined me by my side, his shirt ripped open revealing the bullet proof vest beneath it, and a bullet lodged at the very center of his chest. His eyes widened and he pulled out a phone.
"I'm so cold, Kitty Cat." She whispered, shivering. "Everything's really bright." She said closing her eyes.
"No, no, no, baby. Keep your eyes open." I cried desperately. She opened her eyes and shot me a smile.
"I see mommy and daddy." She stared at the ceiling, her eyes gleaming. "They're smiling at us." She giggled weakly. "Kitty Cat?"
"Yeah, baby?" I pushed away the sweat soaked hair out of her forehead before applying more useless pressure to the wound.
"Am I going with mommy and daddy?" She asked with tears now falling from her cheeks, her big grey eyes looking up at me in sorrow.
"No baby you're going to be fine. You'll see mommy and daddy after you get married, and have kids." I smiled, wiping the tears that had fallen onto her cheeks away. "You're going to go to college and find love, and you're going to live your life. Just watch." The doors busted open but I paid no heed.
"I love you Kitty Cat." She said, her breathing turned ragged and quick.
"I love you too, baby. You're going to be okay." I was pulled out of my thoughts when a man crouched on the other side of her. "Don't touch her!" I shouted making him flinch.
"Cat, let the doctor work." Caleb said placing a hand on my shoulder.
"NO! She's going to be fine! She's fine!" I said pulling her to my chest, not noticing the way her breath had slowed down profusely.
Caleb pulled my arms off of her. I screamed, kicked and shouted, punching anything holding me back, but it wasn't enough. I was dragged out of the room, watching as the man leaned down and started examining Kayla. Others surrounded her, helping the man. Caleb spoke but my ears were deaf to him. I kept fighting and fighting until the door slammed in my face. They let me go and I ran at it, banging and screaming.
"OPEN THE DOOR! SHE NEEDS ME! SHE'S FINE! SHE'S GOING TO BE OKAY! LET ME IN!" I shouted uselessly. "She needs me." I whispered as the strength began to leave my body.
My legs gave out and I fell into Caleb's arms. He carried me out of the hallway, passing the gang members who stood on the sides, sympathy lining their eyes and pity as they nodded condolences. "She's not dead. She's not. She's fine." I said as my eyes began to droop.
"She's going to be fine. You're going to be fine, Katarina." He said looking down at me. "You're going to be fine." My eyes closed shut.

I woke up launching my body forwards. A hand was quickly placed on my shoulder pushing me back against the bed gently. "You need to lay down. Your body exhausted itself. You need to rest." Caleb said. Bags hung from his bloodshot eyes. His skin was deathly pale and sweat glistened on his forehead.
"Where's Kayla?" I asked. Caleb tensed at my hoarse and painful words.
"I'm so sorry my Katarina." He took my hand but I ripped it away, pulling myself out of bed.
"Where the fuck is my baby sister?!" I shouted, brushing away his hands that tried holding me down. He held my stare with sorrow and pain. I had to hear it.
"I'm so sorry my Katarina, she didn't make it." My heart broke.
Right then and there, I felt it. The last shred falling apart. "N-No, I don't believe you. I need to see her."
"She had hemophilia." I tensed. "She bled out on the table. There was too much to control. My doctors were amazed she survived so many cuts and lashes from before the gunshot. Statistics say any one of those cuts should have killed her but the gunshot was the final straw." I fell back on the bed, literally feeling my heart break into pieces.
"I love you Kitty Cat." Her voice was fresh in my mind. I tried to remember every detail, every word, every sound she made. I wouldn't forget a single thing about her.
I couldn't hold it anymore, I burst into tears. The sob I tried so hard to choke back fought it's way through, flooding the gates of emotions I'd been clamping down. I screamed in pain. My heart ached with every breath I took as I began hyperventilating. I'd never cried so hard in my life.
My voice echoed through the room, and I was very sure it echoed throughout the base. Silence broke as I wailed. I curled up against the chest and arms that suddenly enveloped me. My body fighting itself to let it stay awake, to let it grieve and mourn and sob.
My throat grew sore and soon enough my sobs were silent as I lost my voice. The pain tore at me, ripping everything I was to shreds. Eventually, the relief of blissful sleep finally hit me.
