"There's my girl," Nik commented as Elena came through a doorway of the school, stopping when she saw us.
"Klaus." She turned to go the other way, but I blocked her path.
"You're supposed to be dead. What are we going to do about that?" I grabbed her arm, forcing her to walk. "You put a rather large kink in our plans, sweetheart. The whole point of Nik breaking the curse and becoming a hybrid was to make more hybrids. He hasn't been able to do that. Now my bet is, it has something to do with the fact that you're still breathing."
"If you're going to kill me, just do it!" Elena said through gritted teeth as my grip on her tightened.
"Not until I know I'm right. But I do have ways of making you suffer." Nik pushed the door to the gym open and I pulled Elena through. There were students setting up cups all around the gym floor. "Attention, seniors. You have officially been busted. Prank night is over. Head on home," Nik said, putting on an American accent. The students groaned, dropping the cups and exiting. "You two. I remember you."
"I'm sorry, who are you?" The girl asked, as the guy next to her turned to look.
"Oh, don't worry, I wasn't in my right head last time we met. Lift your foot up, please, Dana," He compelled and she did as she was told. Then he turned to the guy, "If she drops her foot, Chad, I want you to beat her to death. Understood?"
"Don't, Klaus. You don't have to hurt anybody," Elena whispered to him.
"Oh, come on, love. Of course I do." I let go of Elena's arm, only to have Nik grab mine and pull me off to the side.
"Did you know she was alive?" He asked, glaring down at me.
"No, I didn't."
"Don't lie to me," he growled.
"I'm not lying to you. I didn't know she was alive. Look, before the ritual happened, Elena's uncle or father, whatever he is, had Bonnie do a spell so that when Elena died, his life would go into her, essentially bringing her back to life. I didn't know it had worked. I was stuck with you and Elijah for the next three days before leaving town, remember? How could I have known?" He remained silent, thinking over what I had just said. Letting go, he walked away as I rolled my eyes. "Stupid paranoid hybrid," I mumbled under my breath, going to sit on the bleachers. Dana started swaying on her one foot.
"Where's Stefan? What did you do to him?" Elena asked.
"Stefan's on a time out," Nik told her, looking over his shoulder as he crossed his arms. The door opened and Bonnie walked in with Matt.
"Bonnie, get out of here!" Elena called. Nik rushed over, standing behind Bonnie, who turned.
"I was wondering when you'd show up. Now we can get started. Dana, why don't you relax? You and Chad sit tight." Dana put her foot down, falling to the floor. "So you're the reason Elena's still walking around alive?"
"That's right. If you want to blame someone, blame me," she told him.
"Oh, there's no need for blame, love. Just your witchy interference seems to have caused some undesirable side effects. And since you caused the problem, I'm going to have you find the fix." The door opened again, Rebekah holding a struggling Tyler. "I'd like you all to meet my sister Rebekah. Word of warning, she can be quite mean."
"Don't be an ass," I called as Rebekah shoved Tyler at Nik.
"Leave him alone," Elena stated.
"I'm going to make this very simple. Every time I attempt to turn a werewolf into a vampire hybrid, they die during the transition. It's quite horrible, actually." Nik bit into his wrist, shoving it against Tyler's mouth, who struggled to break free. "I need you to find a way to save my hybrids, Bonnie. And for Tyler's sake, you better hurry," he snapped Tyler's neck, dropping his body to the ground. He and Rebekah made their way over to where I was sitting on the bleachers, Rebekah sitting a few rows up, while Nik leaned against the railing, close to where I was sitting.
Leaning forward, I wrapped my arms around his shoulders from behind, "You know, it's kinda hot when you boss people around." He turned his head, smirking as I winked.
"He's not dead. Klaus' blood will turn him into a vampire," I heard Elena say while she paced.
"And if Bonnie's successful, he'll live through his transition. Go on, then. Go and fetch your grimoires and enchantments and what-not. I'll hold onto Elena, for safe-keeping," Nik said, walking over to the group. Rebekah and I stood from our seats, following him. Bonnie and Matt quickly left the gym as Rebekah circled around to the front of Elena, eyeing her.
"So this is the latest doppelganger. The original one was much prettier."
"Enough, Rebekah. Take the wolf boy elsewhere, would you?" She went over, grabbing Tyler's arm and started pulling him out of the gym. "Just ignore her. Petty little thing."
Sorry for updating so late! I just started writing a new story, even though I have a bunch more I need to finish and I just started watching Game of Thrones for the first time, when I have a bunch of other shows I need to catch up on. So please be patient with me; I'm going to try to write my new story while keeping up with posting new chapters and hopefully getting the next book done!
My character and her story are of my own imagination. They belong to me and nobody else. Please do not steal. Copyright 2015.
