Chapter 62: Pumpkin Picking.

Leaves fell on the grounds of Camp Half-Blood. Many different colors littered the ground as campers were in the arena, obviously training.

Cabins were busy off to work. Since, Chiron ordered every camper to clear some space around their cabin.

The busiest out of all, was the Demeter cabin.

Not only because they needed to follow Chiron's order but because October is one of the busiest months to harvest crops and that such.

So you could guess that the Demeter children were off to work collecting as many crops as they can.

One of the Demeter children that especially worked hard in harvesting crops was, y/n l/n. What made her one of the most hard working person in the Demeter cabin was her determination in doing her job. Not making a single glance at anything else.

And of course, some of her siblings offered her a time out on harvesting crops and some water but she still kept at it. Her sibling admired that of her which led her into being a well liked camper in her cabin.

And that was great with her since she did come to camp not that long ago.

(And by that she didn't really get to meet all of the campers in camp, especially the Heroes of Olympus...)

Anyhow, y/n was busy off to work, collecting pumpkins and all when she didn't notice three pairs of guys walking by the field.

'The three guys' were actually Jason, Percy and Nico, which in this case, was being hassled by his two older friends.

The three decided to do something and bring back pumpkins for the seven.

"Your hat is so cute, Nico! Still can't believe Hazel got you that and your willing to wear it" Percy laughs as he tries to take Nico's hat off.

Nico yells at him as his cheeks turn bright red from Percy's comment. "She's my sister I have to." Nico replies, trying to fix his hat, while bumping into Jason who was behind him.

"Whoa watch where your going!" Jason says gently pushing Nico forward. "Can we just get this over with so I can peacefully be back in my cabin again?!" Nico asks as he walks straight with a frown on his face.

"Ok ok ok" Percy responds while grinning.

And so, they all finally arrived at the field. They (well more like Jason and Percy) asked the Demeter campers if they could collect pumpkins. The campers let them do so and told them that they have to could go with Nathan, a Demeter camper.

Nico, not wanting to go with Percy and Jason asked one of the Demeter campers if he could go with someone else.

The camper could obviously see that y/n was always busy in her work that he wanted her to take her eyes off something else so he said it was fine and that Nico could go with y/n.

Y/n, not knowing got tapped on the shoulder by the one and only, Nico.

"May I help you?" You ask, mad that someone disturbed you from your work. He looked around for a moment but looked at you again. "Eh yeah. Could I have... pumpkin?" He mumbles to you.

You sigh but then unexpectedly let out a laugh... You couldn't hold it in okay?!.

"Why are you laughing?" He questions with a serious face.

You look at his deep colored eyes again. "Eh nothing. And sure"

"Do you want to cut a pumpkin or?" You ask. "I can cut a pumpkin?!" He asks like a little child.

You grin as you take out your dagger that you only used for cutting crops so far. "Yeah I see why not." You respond, he softly smiles but after a second he goes back to his expressionless face.

But personally...

You liked him with his smile.

"So how do I cut this damn thing?" He asks with a bit of aggregation in his voice.

You chuckle again and begin to speak, "Okay so firstly hold the pumpkin firmly. And then begin to slice the pumpkin off the stem okay?" You say looking at what he was doing.

He nods holding the pumpkin. But unfortunately, he weakly cut it so it barely even cut half way.

You then begin to laugh and surprisingly and shockingly he lets out a quiet laugh. He looks at you with the smile he had until he went back to  looking at the pumpkin again.

"Hold it like this." You say grabbing his hand to make sure the dagger was going to cut through the stem this time.

That made Nico blush again, so you immediately backed a bit away.

He then nodded. In a flash, he cut it off the stem but didn't hold the pumpkin strongly. That send the pumpkin rolling your way.

"Woah!" You say, startled.
You then got the pumpkin but before that Nico was already heading to go get the pumpkin... But while crawling.

So when you got it he crash into you. That send you going backward into the ground and him on top of you.

You look at each other for a second before you hear Nathan saying goodbye to somebody. "Hey Nico you ready? we sure are!" Percy yells going pass the corn. Luckily, they weren't here yet so you two immediately got off each other, him grabbing the pumpkin he cut.

"You good? You look flustered" Jason comments once he looks at Nico. "Yeah! Im fine!" Nico yells back. Jason grins, "Whatever you say bro".

Nico rolls his eyes.

"Ok Nico let's go!" Percy says. "Yeah okay" Nico says standing up. "Bye y/n" Percy says smiling at you while he did a calm wave. "You know my name?" You ask, surprised.

"Nathan told me." He replied while going away with Jason. "Until next time... Eh y/n." Nico says to you while going away with the rest.

You wave goodbye, and nod to yourself.

You then look ground, "Goodbye Eh Y/n indeed" You say to yourself while letting out a laugh.
"Until next time to you too, Nico." You mumble to yourself as you went to go to work again.
