Chapter Seven: Zeref

Natsu has been gone for two days. Lucy checked in his house but there was nothing. Happy didn't even know where he went to. Everyone at the guild was worried that something happened. Lucy wanted to fight him and help him. She knew something has been going on ever since he saw the black wizard.

She is walking back to her apartment when she sees a black flamed column shot from the forest all the way into the sky. It sounded like an explosion. Everyone in town started to panic and run into their homes.

"What do you think that's about?" Lucy jumps and turns around slowly to see that it's Grey.

"Ahhhh! You scared the hell out of me you idiot!" She then kicks him into a wall.

Grey groans, "sorry Lucy..." And he falls to the ground.

Lucy grabs his hand to help him stand up, "what do we do?"

"I don't know but, do you feel that? That dark magical energy?"

Lucy nods. She was scared. "Zeref....?"

"Probably one of his demons. We need to get everyone over there to fight it."

"Right."

They run for the guild as fast as their legs could when another column rose up to the sky.

"Good job, Natsu. Even in your human form you're able to perform it perfectly." Zeref complimented the dragon slayer.

"Well, it's sure taking a lot out of me and probably everyone in magnolia saw it." Natsu was panting.

"Yeah, I don't know how much more curses your body can take."

Zeref has been helping him use his new found powers. He knew everything about demon curses didn't even need the book. The book only had a quarter of the amount of spells.

"This curse can be the last for the day. It's called demons flame infestation curse. This one is pretty powerful but less than the last one. So, get into the stance to perform it."

Natsu spreads out his feet and puts his hands together. His pointer and middle finger out. The same position as the first time he tried a curse.

"Clear you mind." The dark Mage told him.

Natsu exhales and closes his eyes. When he snaps them open he yells, "demons flame infestation curse!"

"Now pick your target!" Zeref yells to him.

He picks the first tree he sees and flames form under his feet spreading its way through the forest. The flames turn into an eerie black when they start to form around the tree. He could see it get eaten away by his demon fire. Falling apart into ash till never was nothing left. The flames disappeared and he looks where the tree once was. There wasn't even a trance of it anywhere.

"Wow.... Did I do that spell correctly?"

"Yes, you did. Remember you created curses. You could do them so easily in your demon form. Not even break a sweat. Your human mind seems like it remembers these spells deep down. It's like instinct. With more training you could beat me just has you are now."

"So, I wouldn't have to worry about turning in E.N.D?"

"Possibly. Well, not entirely. Remember what I said, every time you cast a curse, you lose yourself little by little."

"Well, all that training has made me really hungry. Want to go to the town and get something to eat?"

Zeref just stared at him wondering if he heard right, "I... I don't think that's a good idea."
