Chapter Thirty One: a fight for the world

Natsu wakes up in the morning. His arm is burning. He was about to grab it when he noticed something different about it. His mark grew up to his shoulder.

"No.... Come on..." Natsu's voice broke.

Then he hears footsteps. He makes a cursed ball of fire in his hand ready to attack.

"Relax, flame brain."

Natsu calmed down, "great it's you."

Grey walked into the room. He spotted Natsu's arm, "does that grow every time you use a curse?"

"Seems like it. I used a lot yesterday so..."

"Can he be awakened without the book?"

Natsu just looks at his hands, "what are you doing here anyways?"

"We got a war to win." Grey said like the fire mage was stupid, "you don't seem excited about being able to fight like normally."

"I'm not. I'm...." Natsu shut up. He didn't want to talk about his feeling with Grey.

"Scared," but Grey finished for him. Understanding.

"What about the people in the city? They'll be in danger," he had to change the subject.

"Their all evacuating right now. A lot of the girls are helping."

Natsu was relieved, "do you think Lucy will go with them and not fight?"

"She's Lucy. She's fighting."

"I don't want her to incase..."

"I think it's good that she comes. She might help you keep yourself at bay. You don't want Lucy to see what you really are."

"Yeah I guess."

"Well let's get heading to the guild. They'll probably be here really soon."

When Natsu walked into the guild everyone looked at him. His whole arm up to his shoulder was bandaged up. He sat down at the bar.

"Can I have some food and drink Mira?" He asks politely.

"Sure Natsu. The usual?"

"Yes... Um... How's Lucy?"

"Hmm... I don't know she's been all buisness today with evacuating. She'll come around. She loves you a lot..."

"I feel like I lost everyone..."

"You didn't. Everyone is just shocked. No one hates you. They know you did it for good reasons."

"But it was wrong still."

"You saying that, makes me have hope." She smiles at him.

She hands him his food and drink and he shoves it in his mouth. He hasn't been eating much for awhile.

Then the towns bells start ringing, meaning danger is coming. Everyone filled with fear. It showed in all their eyes. It was time.

Lucy came running in then and see Natsu's. She jumps him and kissing him. He stiffened from surprise. He grabs her hand gently, "you ready to fight? I want you by my side."

"Yes. I'm so sorry Natsu."

"It's okay. I needed it."

They walked hand in hand out the door to see the flying ships coming to the town. Then they shot something but, it was blocked by a force field. It was freed. He bought fairytail sometime. It wasn't going to stand forever.

Natsu, Gajeel, and Wendy jumped onto one of the boats. Ajeel was standing there waiting.

"Well, long time no see," He glared at Natsu, "I'll make you pay for what you did."
