Fairytail: E.N.Ds Awakening

Chapter Ninteen: the first of many games

There was one hundred and twenty six teams this year competing in the magic games. Fairytail was one of the last in the parade.

"Who are you?" Erza grabbed the guy by the shoulder.

"I'm Kazuya...."

She looked at him a bit longer, "you changed."

Zeref blushed, "yeah I did."

"You're going to tell the rest of the guild who you really are right?"

"Yes."

"When?"

"I don't know when a good time is to..."

"After the parade... Please. Everyone deserves to know. Don't you think? No matter what you may think. These past weeks spent with you have been nice for everyone. They all care about you. I'm pretty sure they'll still love you after you tell them it's you."

"They might think it was an evil plot..."

"Me, Natsu, Lucy, everyone who knows will back you up. You have no need to worry." She gives him a reassuring smile.

Team fairytail makes it to the crowds of people. Everyone was cheering for the number one team in Fiore. Erza was loving the attention. Natsu.... Well he was being Natsu. Grey and Gajeel just waved around and Zeref was in shock.
He'd never done anything like this so, he didn't know to act.

"Awwwe! That new fairytail member is so cute!" He heard some girls yell.

His face turned red as he waved to those girls. They screamed with delight.

'Wow I didn't even really have to do anything...' He smiles huge as he waves to the rest of the city.

The broadcast people were talking about him, "the girls are really loving the fairytail's newest member."

"It says here his name is Kazuya Dragneel, older brother to the dragon slayer Natsu!"

"Wow! Id like to see them both team up and fight!"

"Me too! There's those other brothers I'd love to see them fight and hopefully we'll get a chance to!"

"The other brothers in the sabertooth guild are tough to beat."

"But, they got Natsu and if that new guy is related to him, he must be strong too."

"Ahh! So excited!"

After that long slow walk, the parade was over but, the night wasn't.

"Guilds of Fiore! It's time to begin the magic games first game!" Pumpkin announces.

Something giant forms in the sky.

"What is it?" Grey wonders.

"Only eight guilds out of one hundred and twenty six will make it to the next round tomorrow! They rules are simple. Up here is a maze. You cant go over the walls or dig underneath. At each fork in the road you'll be asked a deep question about one of your guild mates competing in the games! If you get it right, the maze will show you the way! If you choose wrong though, you'll be sent back to start. The one the question is about can't answer it. Let's begin the games shall we?!"

"How are we supposed to get up there?" Erza wonders with the rest of the team.

"I got it," Zeref says. He lifts everyone up from the ground including himself. They float to their starting point.

"Also, you might be meeting other guilds in the maze. You'll have to fight them and the magic games aren't responsible for a deaths during this game but, killing is not against the rules. Have fun!"

"I wonder how many teams have made it up already?" Gajeel asks.

"Well, let's get started!" Natsu yells. He goes up to a wall as does a evil laugh as he breaths fire at it. To his disappointment nothing happens. "Come on! It's a bush for crying out loud!"

"A magical bush." Erza laughs, "and you can't cheat your way through this."

They start running, hitting a dead end a few times.

"I hate this!" Natsu screams as he breaths fire out his mouth into the sky.

"Save it for fighting, flame brain!" Grey tells him.

They finally hit a fork. A table pops up with a piece of paper on it. Erza picks it up, "a demon attacked my town. Killing everyone. Who am I and what was the demons name?"

Grey says, "that a horrible question...."

"It was Grey and the demon who attacked his town was Deliora." Zeref answers the question while getting a dark glare from Grey.

The paper disappears and the maze lights the way. They run down it to find another fork in the road.

Gajeel picks up the paper, "where was Erza enslaved at so many years ago?"

"I know this! The tower of heaven!" Natsu says.

"What that?" Zeref asks.

"The R system." Grey mumbles angrily at the dark mage.

Zeref and Erza lock eyes. 'I'm sorry Erza. It really wasn't meant for evil...'

They hit another one with a new question.

Zeref picks it up and frowns. Another one about his many sins. 'Is anyone's else questions like this or just ours?'

"What happened to magic school that used to be around many years ago?" He whispers. Luckily they heard him. He didn't want to repeat it.

"I heard everyone just sort of died from this intense magic." Erza says.

"I heard it was Zeref." Grey watches the black wizard.

'What are up with all these questions? Why do this?' Zeref wonders.

The maze shows the way.

"How many more questions is there?" Natsu asks the team.

"How are we supposed to know?" Grey tells him.

"No one was asking you ice princess!"

"Next question..." Erza says.

Natsu grabs it out of her hand.

"Oh no, Natsu is going to try and read. This should be interesting." Grey says laughing.

"Do you want to go?!"

"Stop wasting time!" Erza screams at the two.

"Yes ma'am!"

"How did the first master die?"

Erza looks at the dark wizard the. At Natsu, "she was killed by.... By Zeref... From a kiss...."

"Whaaaattt?" Natsu, grey, and Gajeel say in disbelief.

The path lights up saying the answer was correct. Natsu and Grey stare at Zeref.

"Am I missing something here?" Gajeel asks.

"No just freaking out about that answer" Natsu says.

'I bet whoever is in charge is having a good time hurting me.' Zeref thinks.

"You have reached the last question of the maze!" They hear the pumpkins voice.

Grey picks up the paper, "what is Zeref's biggest secret about the demon E.N.D?"

Zeref was shocked. He looked at Natsu. Natsu looked pissed off.

The fire Mage takes a step forward, "I know this. E.N.D is Zeref's little brother." 'I hope that was enough to answer it...'

The path lights up and they run to the finish line. When they make it. They didn't cheer. There was too much to think about but, they made it to the finish first.
