Fairytail: E.N.Ds Awakening

Chapter Thirty Seven: a week later

It's been a week since the dreadful day. Lucy was going to ask Mavis if it was time to go back yet to find them. She waited for what felt like an eternity. She knew in her heart that Natsu was okay. He was tough but, would he be Natsu? Or would he be... E.N.D?

She left her room to find the first master but. She was no where to be found. Grey told her she left somewhere with Mistogen and the others from edolas.

She went back into her room and laid there thinking about him.

Grey sat at the tables with Juvia and held her close. Then the doors opened just then. The light from outside was bright. Mavis and Mistogen and the rest walk in. They were serious till a hand grabbed the first masters hand. Then he saw. It was Zeref. He was beat up and covered in dirt and ash.

Everyone stood up and waited to see if Natsu was going to emerge from the door. Grey's heart was pounding. He wished Lucy was here at this moment when he saw a head of salmon colored hair come into view from behind them.

He stared at his friend wide eyed and in shock. He was alive. Natsu's head was held low his hair covering his eyes. He was in the same condition as his brother. He was the same Natsu though. The black marks of a demon were all over his body still. There was dried blood on his head and face. Part of his hair drenched in it like there used to be horns.

Natsu looked up finally at everybody. Everyone screamed and ran to their friend. Putting him in a embrace. Grey started to cry with happiness because, the Natsu that came back smiled at everybody. He was sobbing as he was overwhelmed with happiness of seeing a their faces again.

Then he looked around for her. For Lucy but, she couldn't be found. Grey went up to the dummy and hugged him, "I thought we lost you."

Natsu was surprised by Greys embrace but, he hugged him back.

"Where's Lucy?" He asked the ice wizard.

"She in her room. I'll show you where it is."

The two walked to her room, "she might die from excitement when she sees you." Grey tells him.

"Or I might." He laughs as he heads to the girl he loves room. Grey leaves with a smile on his face.

Natsu knocks on the door and when Lucy opens it. She's frozen then cries out and wraps her arms around him. He holds her tightly. They stay like that for a long time.

Lucy notices the black marks still all over his body but, there was no wings, no horns, and no cold fire colored eyes. He was her Natsu. He smelled like smoke. Reminding her of the battle.

"I knew Mavis was successful." She says.

"She was. It was close though. I was so scared Lucy. I thought I'd never see you again."

"Me too but, you're here and you're safe now. Your brother saved me. He held back your spell. Is he okay?"

"Yeah, he's at the main room with everyone else."

"I never want to let you go," she grabs on tighter to him.

He laughs softly, "you will never have to again."

They went into the room, laid on the bed and cuddled together for a long time.

"Natsu!" Happy yelled as he flew to his best friend. Happy hasn't been seen for a whole week. He stayed in his room heartbroken about Natsu. Carla even tried to talk to him but, it was no use, he wouldn't let anyone talk to him.

Natsu hugged his blue buddy tightly till the exceed couldn't breathe.

"Natsu, can't.... Breathe..."

"Oh sorry. Im so excited to see my family again."

Everyone looked at him with caring eyes. Then Zeref walks up by Natsu.

"I'm really truly sorry for everything that I have done," he begins speaking, "I know that no apology can make the loss of your loved ones okay and I understand if no one wants me around their guild. I can wander alone once more when we get back to earth land," he sees Mira and lisanna and walks slowly towards them, "I am truly sorry that you lost your brother Elfman. He was very manly," the two girls laughed silently at that but, were still in pain over it. Zeref smiled, "and Romeo, your dad was a good man. I remember hearing that he was master for awhile while your friends were away for seven years. Fairytail was in debt and weak but, your dad never lost heart. He was strong and determined. He cared so much for the guild," then Romeo hugs him, surprising the black wizard. He hugs him back, "and for everyone in the guild. I'm so sorry about Makarov.... It was very wrong of me... I feel so horrible for all the pain I gave you. I'm sorry." He starts crying and everyone huddled around him in a huge hug. Everyones forgiveness towards the dark Mage overwhelmed him with happiness.

The Dragneel brothers, grey, Juvia, Lucy, Erza and Jellal sat around the table together talking.

"So Natsu, why do you still have those marks when you're yourself?" Erza asks.

"I don't really know exactly. I guess just because I truly am a..... Demon." That word was hard to say.

"No you feel different at all? Like darker or anything?"

Natsu looks down at his hands, "sometimes.... It's weird. I'm like both the demon and the Natsu you all know. I have some bad thoughts. I do have all of E.N.Ds powers though and memories. I even have memories of before I was a demon. When I was little."

"So, you and Zeref are really brothers?" Juvia asks.

"Yes, we are." Natsu sounded proud of that, which made the black wizard happy.

"Master E.N.D! Your alive!"

Natsu knew that voice, it was Jackel, "what are you doing here?!"

He stops dead in his tracks, "well, I... Um... I know that I was supposed to die like everyone else but, when it all happened. I changed my mind. I know that goes against your rules. I wanted to live more than anything. I know it was selfish but, I'm a demon after all so...."

Natsu stands up and walks to the demon, "you broke the rules. You let me go on to die but, why do you get to live?"

Jackel was shaking as Natsu stood over him with anger. His eyes were burning with the color of fire.

"I... I'm sorry master."

Natsu puts a hand on his shoulder, "it's alright. I wasn't going to hurt you!" He starts laughing loudly.

Jackel relaxes.

"But, you will still face punishment."

"Okay, do whatever you want."

"I want you to dance with Erza," Natsu laugh booms throughout the room.

"What?" Jackel was confused.

"Trust me. It's good punishment."

"Yes! I want to dance!" Erza stood up and took the demon to an opening in the room and started dancing. Jackel couldn't keep up but, the red haired wizard didn't care. She torchured him for a long while. She was practically dragging him. Everyone was laughing at them.

Then she left him on the floor. Jackel just laid there completely dizzy.

The rest of the day was full of laughing and talking. Grey and Natsu went back to their usual fighting while Erza tried to keep them under control. Happy was offering fish to Carla which she always declined. Juvia was fanning over Grey like always. Lucy and Zeref sat there together laughing at all of them. Mavis went beside the dark Mage and held his hand. They smiled at each other. Then Mavis grabs his face and kisses him. This kiss was better than the very first long ago. There was no worry about what would happen afterwards like last time. He held her close after that and her smile was huge. Zeref noticed a piece of paper she had been clutching since she got them from ear land. He wondered what was in there.
