Chapter Fifteen: day one of training

Everyone in the guild gathered around for breakfast. It's was the first day of training and Erza was in charge, which meant it was going to be a rough day.

After breakfast, she planned on everyone do stretches then going for a two mile run.

"The run is going to be so easy!" Natsu said, excited, "you excited brother?"

"Uhhh.... I don't really run...."

"You don't?"

"Never needed too."

Zeref was not excited about it. He didn't think he'd actually be able to do it.

"Erza really gets into training." Grey tells him.

"And she can be scary." Natsu says shivering.

"You got that right." Grey shivers too.

"Is it really that bad?" Zeref says as he takes a bite of pancake.

"She's crazy. She'll make you run the entire time. Won't even let you stop for a drink. If you do get thirsty, you got to be able to drink and run at the same time." Natsu tells him.

"And she won't let you slow down either, if you do.... You don't want to find out...." Grey told it like a scary story.

"So scary...." Natsu says.

"Scary...." Grey agrees.

"What are you guys whispering about?" It was Erza.

"Nothing!" They both answer.

"Are you guys ready? There's nothing like running two miles first thing in the morning! So relaxing!" She hands out pieces of paper to all of them. "This is the schedule for the next few days. First, is a two mile run. Second, meditating. Third, intense magic practice. Fourth, one mile walk. Fifth, mountain climbing. Sixth, magic practice again. Seventh, one mile run then finish of with 10 minute stretching! Sound fun?"

Everyone looks at the paper dreading the day. Erza walks off with a smile on her face, "Meet at the beach in five minutes and don't be late!"

"I might just die from this." Zeref says.

"Finally I made it," Zeref was last but, he still made it alive.

"That's my brother for you!" Natsu high fives him.

"How are you not worn out?" Zeref asks his brother.

"He never gets tired from running. It's insane." Grey says.

"Good job everyone. It's time for 10 minute meditation! Walk around and pick your places to do so!" Erza instructs.

"Hey! Do you think you can make me walk on water too? We could meditate in the middle of the ocean!" Natsu asks Zeref.

"We can try."

"I wonder if all of us can go?" Erza wonders.

So they all walk out to the shore. Zeref closes his eyes, "try walking on the water now."

They do so and it works. Then the black wizard takes a step. They walk together to the perfect place to meditate and sit down.

"I don't know how I'm supposed to do this when walking on water is so cool." Natsu says.

They close their eyes.

Zeref and Natsu wonder off to practice their magic away from anyone who could be watching.

"Hey do you think I could get away with curse magic at the games?" The fire Mage asks.

"You might. Probably. No one is ever going to think that you're a demon." Zeref rests his chin in his hand in deep thought, "do you want to learn more?"

Natsu nods.

"Why? If I may ask."

"I just love doing new things and I like to see how strong I can be. I like to battle to show it off."

"You do remember the risks every time you perform that magic?"

"Yes, but I'm not worried about. I'll never let E.N.D take over."

Zeref slightly smiles, worried that his brother is getting himself into something he doesn't completely understand.

The two practice their magic. Natsu was a natural at curses in his human form, and it impressed the dark mage. His little brother was getting stronger each time he practiced his new magic, if worried Zeref but, Natsu loved it. The two mixed their powers together a few times. They worked well combined like how two brothers magic should.

Erza was proud of herself for the successful schedule she planned out for the Wizards. All of them were strong. She knew this years magic game was going to be better than the last.

"Erza?" She knew that voice. It was Jellal.

"Hey, you finally came." She smiles up at him. Her feelings were growing strong for him which is why she invited him here to the beach.

"Want to go on a walk?"

She accepts and grabs his hand. He looks over at her. Startled but, doesn't let go.

"I got an interesting sense of magic here....." Jellal tells her.

'He's always business...' She laughs to herself, "I've been feeling it everywhere I go even at the guild."

"It's very dark and evil. When did it start?"

"Ever since Natsu and his brother have been with each other, I suppose."

Jellal stops dead in his tracks.

"What's wrong?"

"When did Natsu have a brother?"

"Ummm.... It was after our last job. I don't know how they finally met but, they haven't seen each other in so long and Natsu was really young when the got separated so he doesn't even remember having a sibling."

"What is his brother like?"

"Mostly quiet and nervous. Complete opposite of Natsu but, they get along great. He's starting to get out of his shell more and more. He cares about Natsu. He seems like a nice guy."

"What kind of magic?"

"Hmmm.... That's a tough one. I've never seen anything like it. His magic is powerful. I can always feel it even when it just seems like a small spell. I do get a bad feeling mixed with it though."

"Like evil? Like Zeref?"

"It's the same feeling as tenroe island... And Zeref was supposedly there.... You don't think he's lying and he's actually the black wizard, do you?"

"I thinking he might be.can I meet him?"

"Yes." She was scared for the fire dragon slayer now.
