Chapter Twenty Eight: the ugly fairy

The next few days was with warmth and happiness throughout the guild. Everything was like how it was. Cana drinking barrels each day. Juvia stalking Grey till no end. Natsu trying to pick fights with everyone but, something's were different. Erza and Jellal eating strawberry cake together. Zeref sitting at a table with Mira, lisanna, Lucy, Mavis, Levi, and Gajeel. They were all laughing together.

The sixth master started to think about retiring and giving his place to one of the guild mates. He watched Zeref smile at his new friends with kindness. His heart pure of evil. 'Mavis was right. Zeref does belong here.' He realized then that Zeref, the black wizard, was one of his children now. He started to care about him like all his others kids. It didn't matter how his past was, he was good now. He saw the light.

"I wished Natsu could dance!" Lucy was laughing.

"He really can't?" Zeref joins in the laughter.

"Hey! I never learned it okay!" Natsu defends himself.

"Do you know how to dance, Zeref?" Levi asks.

"I do. Very well I must say. I've had so many years and back when I was a kid it was very important to be able to."

Erza stands up, "then show me how good you are! I know how to dance but, no one can keep up with me!"

He laughs and stands up, offering his hand. Then Erza gets out of control and starts swinging him around violently. It surprised the dark mage but, he finally finds his footing and dances with her.

Everyone then tries to dance. Lucy forces Natsu to, as he had a look of annoyance plastered all over his face. He kept stepping on her feet.

Then Jellal comes up to Zeref and Erza. He holds out his hand, "may I have this dance?"

Erza grabs his hand and they sway together. Zeref finds Mavis and she's waiting for him. They dance together never leaving eye contact. She snuggles her face on his chest, closing her eyes.

Natsu was starting to get the hang of it. Lucy smiled at him with love. She rested her hand on his cheek and kissed him on the lips.

"Will grey dance with me?" Juvia holds out her hand to the ice wizard.

"No." And he walks away.

Juvia starts to cry excessively.

"I'll dance with you." It was Zeref.

She smiles a little bit and takes his hand.

Grey only watched. His fist clenched. That black wizard scum was dancing with her. He storms to them, taking Juvia in his arms.

Zeref smiles as Juvia understood what his plan was. He knew Grey would come to her if they danced together.

After all that. The town bells start ringing. Everyone looks around excited.

"Yes! He's back!"

Zeref could feel the whole town shifting, "what is going on?"

Then gildarts bursts in. "I'm back!"

"Gildarts!" Everyone runs to him.

"Uh..." Zeref was confused. He looked out the window and saw a huge trench leading up to the guilds door. Like it was protecting the city.

"Dad!" Cana run up to him and hugged him tightly, "I missed you."

"I did too."

"Hey, now that your back, I've gotten a lot stronger. Let's fight!" Natsu yells coming towards him but gildarts slams him into the ceiling. He falls back on to the floor, knocked out cold.
