Chapter Nine: he is back!

'Oh, man. I'm never drinking again..." Zeref woke up holding his head. He looked around and realized he was in Natsu's house. It was a total mess. He realized a bunch of papers on the walls.

"Hey, good morning!" Natsu says with a grin on his face.

"Morning. I feel horrible..."

"Have you never drank before? It didn't seem like you knew your limit." Natsu snickered to himself.

The dark Mage's eyes open wide, "what is that supposed to mean?!"

"All the ladies at the bar really liked you!" He was laughing really hard now.

Zeref blushed, "what exactly happened? I don't remember much."

Natsu laughed even harder.

Zeref was getting annoyed, "never mind... So what's up with all those papers on the wall?"

"Oh..... Those are job requests! Have you never seen them before?"

His older brother looked a little sad, "I have never been part of a guild. I've always been alone."

There was an awkward silence till Natsu broke it, "these are all the jobs I've done."

"There's so many...." Zeref starts to tear up, "I wish.... I wish so much that it can be like this for you forever. Igneel and your master have been so good to you knowing what you are."

"Master knows?!"

Zeref nods, "Igneel took you in. He thought to seal your demon powers and your memories so you can be human and... Become a dragon slayer. To become part of a guild. A good one. When Igneel had to go, he knew fairytail would be perfect for you. So, makarov took you in. I've been wanting to thank him for taking care of you. He did a good job."

"You can still thank him."

"Not a good idea.... Natsu.... Im Zeref. The black wizard. The most feared and powerful. The council is after me, if I go there they'll think your taking me in and your guild will be in a lot of trouble."

"We can stop them!"

He smiles, "the answer is still no."

Natsu pouted just as he smells happy coming to the house, "oh no.... Go hide Zeref!"

"What's going on?"

"Happy is here! Now go!" He pushes his brother into another room and into a closest. He shuts the door.

"Natsu?" Happy looks at him with tears, "Natsu!" He flys and hugs his best friend around the neck, "everyone has been so worried about you! Especially Lucy! I heard something about you. I heard you have a brother!"

Natsu was surprised, "I..."

But he was interrupted by happy, "you! Why are you here?" He was angry.

Natsu turns and see's Zeref standing there.

"Why is he here Natsu?!"

"He's... He's my brother."

"No.... He can't be!" Happy was sobbing now, "what does that mean? Is that what you've been doing while everyone has been worried sick about you? How can you be his brother? He's over four hundred years old! I don't understand! He's evil! He's a monster!"

"Happy.... Please stop. He's changed. These past few days I've been helping him control his magic. He's cursed because he tried a long time ago to bring me back to life. There was consequences...."

"Does that mean.... That you're..."

Natsu fell to his knees and sobbed as he held his best friend, "yes, happy."

They stay there crying. Heartbroken. Zeref had silent tears falling from his eyes as he watched the two talk about Natsu's fate.

After all the crying has stopped. Natsu introduced the exceed to his brother properly.

"So, now what happens?" Happy asks.

"Zeref becomes a member of fairytail!"

"Whaaaattt?!" Zeref and happy exclaim

"We can give you a fake name. Change your look a bit."

"Makarov knows who I am."

"Gramps will be okay with it after I talk to him. We can take jobs together and defeat anyone when we're with each other. I can help you keep your magic in check! You've never been in a guild before! You've always been alone. You said so yourself. Don't let the curse control. You take control of it!"

Natsu walks into his bedroom and ignores his brothers shocked expression, "here. wear this's." He throws Zeref some of his clothes.

It was black pants like Natsu's white pair. With a white vest with black trim. It had a tall collar. Zeraf looked at himself in the cracked mirror of Natsu's bedroom. He defiantly didn't look like himself. Wearing these kind of clothes was so strange.

"So, what going to be my name?" Zeref asked.

"The crying weirdo!" Happy flew around giggling, "that was my first experience with him."

"Happy!" Natsu yelled.

"You thought the same thing!"

The dragon slayer blushes and stares back at his brother. Natsu just shrugs, guilty.

"How about Kazuya?" Zeref asks.

Natsu pounds his fists together, "that's it! I like it. Nice to meet you Kazuya!" He smiles at his older brother, his hand extended. Zeref takes his hand and shakes it.

"I'm back!" Natsu bursts open the door like he always does.

"Natsu!" Everyone gets up and starts cheering as they run to him.

Zeref's eyes turn big, 'is this what it's like to be in a guild?' He smiles but it was cut short after everyone turns their attention towards him. He looks down at his feet. 'This was a bad idea. I shouldn't be here.'

"Is this your brother that you've been spending so much time with?" Wendy asks the fire Mage.

"Yep! My brother Kazuya!"

"Kazuya!" Everyone exclaims as they drag him further in the guild.

Zeref started to feel overwhelmed. He could feel the evil magic trying to push through. 'Oh no.... Please stop everyone.' He thinks but then he sees his brother. He's smiling at him which causes him to relax. 'Maybe my brother has been my light all along.'

Erza yells for the master, "make him a member of fairytail! Mira! Get the stamp!"

The master comes up to face the black wizard. He was glaring at him with hatred. Natsu comes and throws his arm around his brothers shoulder.

"Natsu.... What are you thinking...?" Master was angry.

"Please gramps... Please... I'm begging. He's my brother and I know he can be of use in this guild. Let him see light. You took me in...."

The master closes his eyes, 'Natsu... You can't trust him even though he's your brother. I don't want to put the rest of the guild in danger. But, he looks so happy. What if I say no? What if Natsu leaves with Zeref then? Ugh... I guess I'll have to....'

"Welcome to the guild Ze... Kazuya!" He grabs the stamp but, Natsu takes it.

"Can I do it gramps?"

He doesn't say anything so Natsu stamps a black fairytail mark on his brothers right arm.

"Welcome to fairytail!" Everyone screams. Every one lifts up their hands to show the fairytail hand symbol.

Grey stood back. He was thinking that the new member looked familiar. He had a bad feeling especially how gramps looked at him.

"So where's Lucy?" Natsu asks.

"She's in her apartment. You should go see her. She'll be happy to know your okay." Erza tells him.

So Natsu running out of the guild and heads to Lucy. He was excited to see her.
