Chapter Twenty Three: dragon slayer vs wizard saint

It was the second day of the magic games. It was pouring rain.

"I hope I get to fight today!" Natsu yells.

"You'll fight eventually flame brain. I hope I get to fight Leon!" Grey was excited about the day too.

"Good morning, everyone! How about we start the second day of the magic games! Pick a teammate in your guild." Pumpkin says.

"I'll go this time," grey says as he leaves for the arena.

When everyone gathered around, pumpkin started to talk, "now that we have everybody. I'll let the secret out about the game."

Then everyone shinks in size. They were little kids now.

"What the...?" Rogue says.

"Now that you all are kids it's time for me to explain the game." Then the whole world changes into a candy land. "You must find the giant gummy bear and fight it while taking each other out! Let's start!" Pumpkin disappears.

Rogue turns into a shadow and leaves the group.

"It's like old memories right grey? We're both young again." Leon says to him.

The game goes on for awhile.it was almost impossible. Candy land was the size of the city. They fought each other till only rogue, Leon, and grey were left.

"Maybe we should just fight now?" Leon asks Grey.

"Fine by me."

They use their ice maker magic. It's was a long battle but, the end was a draw. They both fell down exhausted. Rogue won the match.

The battles began then. It was getting close to the end of the day but, there still was one more match to take place.

"The last battle today is between Natsu Dragneel and the wizard saint Jura Neekis!"

"Sweet! A wizard saint! Time to see how strong I really am!" Natsu was beyond excited except the rest of the guild.

Natsu runs to the arena to meet Jura. "Im so ready for this!"

"I'm glad your so happy about this fight." Jura says.

"Yeah! I get to beat you! I'm not going easy on you."

"I won't either then."

The fight begins as Jura starts twisting the ground. A pillar shoots up and hits Natsu. The dragon slayer falls to the ground.

"That's all you got?" He stands back up.

"Not even close."

Natsu starts running towards him full force. Dodging the wizard saints attacks. He was about to get a punch in and slams into a wall face first that Jura created.

"Oh no, Natsu can't get a single hit on this guy." Erza says.

"Don't worry, we've been training excessively. I believe he can beat Jura. He just needs to stop using his weaker powers and opt for stronger. Natsu is just messing around right now." Zeref tells them.

"Well he needs to stop." Gajeel says annoyed, "this is a wizard saint. He can't afford to be doing that crap."

"I feel like your not giving it your all like you promised, Natsu." Jura states.

"I'm just testing how strong your magic is. That's all," Natsu grins wickedly.

"So are you done now?"

Natsu laughs slightly and is still smiling.

The wizard saint pulls spikes from the ground by Natsu. He dodges it then under his breathe so Jura or no one can hear, "cursed magic fire column." Then black fire starts to form around Jura. He tried to block it with rock but it takes it right out. It spins further up then increases speed and touched the sky. Then blue fire bursts out of it. Lighting the whole stadium. Then in seconds it's gone with Jura laying passed out in the dirt.

His clothes were burnt off in some places and ash sprinkled all over him. The whole stadium was quiet. They were all shocked. One hit and Jura was out cold. Paramedics come and check on him. He was going to make but, still brought him to the hospital for recovery.

Then Natsu falls to his knees, gripping his arm. It was burning him again but, more intense.

"What the hell was that?" Grey says. Then he remembers something. He saw that in mognolia. He looks at Zeref, who was watching Natsu intently. 'What the hell did you teach him, you monster?' The magic was dark and evil. Every wizard here could feel it. It felt even darker than the black mages.

The paramedics come to Natsu to try and help. They grab him to lift him up. The fire mage shakes them off, "get the hell off me!" His eyes were the color of fire.

They backed off, scared. He looked like he was going to murder him. Natsu was shaking.

Lucy comes running out to the arena and grabs his face, forcing him to look at her, "Natsu, it's okay. Calm down please. What's wrong? This isn't like you."

His eyes soften, "I... I don't know what came over me. I'm sorry." He apologizes to everyone, "I need to go.... I need a break for a little bit." He runs out of the stadium to who knows where.

Grey couldn't take it anymore, "what did you do to Natsu!" He glares at Zeref.

He ignores him.

"I'm talking to you!"

"I know you are." He says. He walks off and leaves.

"Come back!" Grey was so angry. His friend was using some sort of dark magic and it worried him. "I'll kill you..." He mumbles under his breath.

"Let's go back to the guild," Erza says.

"Mavis, Natsu is changing. I think it's because of Zeref being around. This is dangerous," the sixth master tells first.

"I know. It's got me worried too. We'll talk to Natsu. He shouldn't be using that sort of magic. I bet the magic council is suspicious now if they weren't before about our new member." She says, "but, we can't kick Zeref out. He's made so much progress..."

"I know..... Natsu is one of my children and I don't want the horrible fate for him."

"But, Zeref is one of your children now too. We can figure something out. Talk to both of them."

The agree and wait for the dragon slayer to return.
