Chapter Thirty Nine: a look at the future

It's been two years since that battle. Two years since the demon E.N.D was awakened.

Zeref buttoned his shirts collar then tighten his tie, he looked at himself in the mirror. He was wearing a tux, it was a special day. Thinking about it made Zeref smile.

"Hey brother, do you think this tux looks fine? I don't know if this clashes right with the scarf." It was Natsu.

"It looks fine," the black wizard tells his brother. He rolls his eyes.

"Alright, I'm just nervous."

Zeref stared at his brother. At his black marks, showing what he really was. Then he thinks about the mission they went on right before this day.

Natsu convinced Zeref to go on a mission with him. He tried to tell him that a master shouldn't be doing jobs but, Natsu wouldn't have it. It was Zeref's first job by the way. Dark guilds were booming everywhere after that final battle. Instead of everyone being obsessed over Zeref, they've been working on E.N.D being awakened once again. Zeref couldn't understand why they would want that. E.N.D destroys all. He doesn't care about anything except killing all especially Zeref.

Natsu had all of E.N.Ds powers. Each mission he went on more dark guilds feared him, totally oblivious to what Natsu really was.

Natsu and Zeref were fighting some strong dark guild but, they were still easy to defeat but, then the master of the guild came forward and Natsu lost it. He lost control. Flames blew out furiously at the guild. There flesh just melting of their bones. It was like slow motion. Zeref looked at his little brother while those Wizards died. Natsu was emotionless as he stared at the used to be guild. That sight scared Zeref. E.N.D was no where gone. He was still there and always will be.

"Hey.... Hey! Zeref! Get out of your dream world and help me!" Natsu tired getting his older brothers attention.

"Oh, yeah. Okay. What do you need?"

"I need help with the cuffs around my wrist. The buttons won't go into the stupid hole and its pissing me off!" Zeref sees a little tiny flame form in the pink haired demons mouth.

"Calm down. You shouldn't be getting angry at all."

Natsu's breathing slows, "sorry.... I forgot..."

"How are you feeling anyways?"

"I... Just upset. I lost control again."

"Again? What happened on that mission has happened before?"

"Well, yeah.... It keeps getting more frequent lately. None of the other members have seen it though.... It was always during one on one battles where they weren't around."

"No wonder everyone thinks the demon is gone. No one loves to actually see him." Zeref smiles at his bad joke.

"Ha... Ha... Very funny but, I'm afraid of the future. E.N.D, I mean me, I didn't finish my destiny. I didn't fulfill my reason to being created.... Your still alive and the world is. I'm scared he'll awaken again someday...."

"I think so too...."

Natsu's heart drops, "maybe I should t be doing this..." He looks at himself in the mirror at the tux

"No. You should keep doing normal human things like this, it might keep the demon part of you away. At least for alittle while. Anyways a girl who really loves you is waiting for you."

"Right," Natsu smiles, "how do I look?"

"Like some sad pathetic dragon slayer or should I say flamebrain." Grey comes in smirking. Laughing silently at his own joke.

"Shut up, ice princess!" Natsu yells.

Grey laughs, "let's get you out there. It supposed to be beginning."

Natsu nods like he's getting ready for battle as he steps out of the room and makes his way to the alter. His big brother, Grey, Jellal, and Laxus await him. On the other side is is the girls Lucy picked out, Levi, Juvia, Erza, and Mira. Then a arms snakes around his. It was Mavis. She beams up at him and drags him to the alter. Then she runs and grabs the bride. Natsu looks at the girl he loves in a beautiful white dress with a trail so long dragging behind her. Natsu cheeks turned red and so did hers. The stood face to face then and held hands. Lucy's big brown eyes were glossy as she stared up at him and Natsu was breathing sharply and rapidly as he looks at the gorgeous girl he was about to be married to. They said their vows then happy makes his way with the two gold bands. Natsu kisses his bride.

"Yeah! Now the drinking and the party can begin! This is the best part of weddings!" Yelled Cana. Ruining the mood.

Everyone cheered with agreement though as the all head off to have a good time together as a family.

Then it was time for the toasts to begin. Zeref began, "hi everyone, I'm so glad the whole family is here to celebrate this happy day but, let's now begin with the toast for my little brother and his bride. My brother has grown so much and has became an amazing guy. He's loyal and kind and fights for what he believes in and fights for his family. He's everything I would've hoped him to be. I always felt so bad for bringing him back into a demon. Sure, it was a bad thing to do but, not a mistake. Natsu finally gets to have a life. He got the chance to make friends and family and he got a chance to fall in love with an amazing woman," Zeref started to tear up, "just seeing him like this, seeing him happy, is everything to me. I'm so sorry for everything but, I did it all out of love for my little brother who I care about so much. Cheers for those newly weds and a happy life together!"

Everyone screams with happiness. Some shed tears from his speech, even Gajeel. Levi sat there and just laughed at the iron dragon slayer. She couldn't believe what she was seeing before her.

Everything was how it should be. The guild was all back together. They were all smiling and having a good time. Singing and drinking together, breaking stuff and getting into fights. It was a rowdy guild but, that what fairytail is. A crazy, loyal, out of control family who loved each other unconditionally.
