Eddie's POV

A miscarriage? I didn't even know she was pregnant. I felt kinda bad for storming out on her like i did, and refusing a hug, but honestly - i just needed to be alone right now. It was a lot to take in. I wasn't mad at Patricia, i just didn't want to be near her for some reason, i would be better soon. Why did rufus zeno seem to always ruin things for me? For us? For everyone? I slept on the sofa that night.

It was soon midday, the time we got taken to the egyptian afterlife, CJ was staying with trudy - who thought we were all going into town for the day - shopping - i wish!

We all stood in a circle in sibuna clearing. Me, Patricia, Mara, Nina, Amber, Alfie, Joy, Jerome and Fabian.

The alarm on my clock buzzed noon and we all collapsed to the floor, cascading into darkness, engulfed by a jolting agony.

We woke in a golden room - gigantic in size - all lay on the burning hot floor.

No one's POV (third person)

All of sibuna landed on the golden floor of anubis' castle. They rose to their feet in an instant, feeling the heat of the burning hot flooring, none of them said a word. Anubis stood before them, anger flashing in his dog eyes. Rufus Zeno, Sankara, Victor Rodemaar senior and Arnold Sweet stood aloofly to the right of him, smirking at the sight of the kids. Ammit - the devourer of souls - sat to the side of them all, staring at the scales as if she couldn't pull her eyes away from them to anything else, she had bloodthirsty eyes, noticeable despite her crocodile head. Ma'at - the truth seeker - stood behind Ammit, her beauty radiating the room against the horror of the part animal features of Anubis and Ammit. Ma'at handed her ostrich feather to Anubis who took it cautiously, not touching any part of Ma'at. He placed the feather on the scales sat in the middle of the room - Sibuna still speachless - and made his way to stand in front of his first victim - Nina - she fell to the floor after a glance at anubis, her heart placed on the scales with ease, her heart weighed the same as the feather, her heart was replaced in her and she disappeared swiftly into the conscious world, landing alive in sibuna clearing. Anubis took several more victims - mara, fabian, joy, alfie and amber - all of which's heart weighed that of Ma'at's feather. All sent back to live. Without the marking of anubis - which vanished effortlessly. Leaving Jerome, Patricia and Eddie to be weighed.

Jerome was the next victim, his heart outweighing the feather, but not enough to be proven guilty of the crime accused. He was sent back to live his life, only he kept his mark from Anubis - a reminder to be good.

Patricia and Eddie exchanged a look - they hadn't spoken since Patricia told Eddie about the baby.

Did their hearts prove them guilty?
