I awoke the next morning to the sound of my phone vibrating against the bedside table. The noise was horribly loud, enough to startle me from my dreams. I picked my phone up and looked at the caller ID, noticing that it was a blocked number. I frowned at my phone, the only people who would be calling this number were my parents and I was unsure if I could really deal with my parents at this time of the morning.

I swiped across to accept the call, silently thanking Jake again for getting me a sim card.

"Hello?" I yawned, lying back down in bed and rubbing the sleep out of my eyes.

"Hey Matilda, what are your plans for today?" a familiar British accent asked, getting straight to the point. I couldn't help the sigh of relief that escaped my mouth, I didn't know if I could deal with another lecture from my parents.

I closed my eyes and tried to think of who it was, someone who had access to my new phone number. "It's Lottie, by the way," Lottie laughed on the other side of the phone. Answering my question for me.

"Oh, hey," I laughed, realising that she was pretty much the only person it could have been. Who else would want to talk to me and hang out? I didn't even think she would want to hang around me, if I was being honest. "I have no idea what I'm doing today."

"I'm going to the spa and hairdressers before Dean's party, want to come?"

"Dean's party?" I frowned, unsure if I was supposed to know about this party. Jake definitely hadn't told me, maybe that meant he didn't want me to go. He had been acting so weird towards me the past couple of days, so it didn't surprise me that he hadn't told me about this party. Although, I thought last night we had sorted that all out. I'd told him a lot last night, most if it had been stuff I'd never told or discussed with anyone before. Maybe he didn't even know about the party, or if he did I'm sure there was a reason why he didn't tell me. I couldn't expect him to tell me everything, no matter how honest I always was with him.

"Yeah, he's having people over as a last minute get together," Lottie's voice cut my thoughts off, reminding me that I was still on the phone with her. "Just some casual drinks and all that rock star stuff," I could hear the amusement in her voice, like there was some joke I was missing.

"I called to invite you to come hang out with me today, then come to Dean's tonight," she explained, her voice so excited that it began to affect me. I realised that Lottie was just one of those kinds of people, her mood had an affect on you whether you liked it or not. I was just glad that she was usually so happy and cheerful.

"You want me to come?" I laughed, wondering how someone could be so genuinely nice. I'd met this girl once, for no longer than twenty minutes, and she was now treating me like I was her best friend of years. Something told me that this was what Jake had been talking about a while ago, the crew looked after each other. I would be foolish to believe that everyone would be this nice, but I was pleased with those that I'd met so far.

"Yes silly," she laughed, like I was being a complete idiot for asking. "I'm leaving now, so I'll be there in just over an hour."

The line went dead, without another word from either of us. I couldn't believe she was coming all this way, but I was grateful for how genuine was. I definitely had to thank the band, for surrounding themselves with great people.

My thoughts of leaving last night seemed stupid now, why would I want to leave the best job I'd ever been offered and some seriously nice people? Even though I still felt like I was living a dream, I wasn't going to leave unless I was asked to.

I got up from my bed, pulling my jeans on so I could go downstairs and find Jake. I needed a shower, but I also needed to check that it was okay with him if I went to the party. I didn't know why he hadn't told me about the party, but I definitely didn't want to step on his toes if he didn't want me to go.
