l.p: Together Forever

"Liam? Oh Liam honey.." A voice murmured. There was pressure on my hand and I groaned a little. My sister was it my sister? I called her name. "Liam oh my god Liam!" I opened my eyes. Who I was seeing was definitely not my sister but my mom. She was smiling above me and I could feel her squeezing my hand tightly.

"Mom?" I whispered trying to sit up.

"Oh no, no honey lie down." She said pressing my shoulder back down onto the bed. I groaned and obeyed her.

"What happened?" I murmured. My mom pursed her lips and grasped my right hand with both of hers.

"Don't you remember sweetheart?" I shook my head slowly. Where was I? What had happened? "You were in a car accident honey." As soon as she said that, everything came crashing back down onto me. Natalie, the car. I was supposed to be dead. Why wasn't I dead?

"The car." I murmured. She sighed in relief, probably glad I hadn't lost my memory.

"Yes, it was horrible. It was a good thing it happened right down the street from here though." She murmured running a hand through my hair. I felt her brush the bandage on my forehead and then the pain hit me in waves. My arms ached and my leg felt like it was being twisted over and over and over.

"Did I break something?" I asked gasping from the pain.

"Oh my god yes. I'm sorry I'll get the nurses." She rushed out of the room then leaving me alone and in pain.

"Natalie!" I croaked out. "Natalie where are you? Why am I not dead?"

"Because you're a lucky son of a bitch." She appeared in my moms seat and took my hand just as she did. I smiled when I saw her. I almost asked her if she was hurt, since she was in the seat next to me but she wasn't, of course. The wasn't a scratch on her, not even a hair out of place.

"But you said I'm supposed to die." She smiled and squeezed my hand.

"Yeah but I never said when." The door opened then and I felt the pressure from her hand leave as my mom and a nurse walked back in. I was asked a bunch of questions like 'Where does it hurt?' and stuff like my name to check my memory. The nurse said everything seemed to be in working order, apart from my broken leg and bruised ribs but they had to check on my brain, take some scans since the car had flipped over. My mom was worried by the prospect of somethin being wrong inside my head but I wasn't particularly concerned.

"Mom, the other driver.." I said slowly.

"She's fine honey, shaken up but fine." She sighed and sat back down. "I'm just so glad that she hit your passenger side and not the drivers seat. I don't know what I would do if.." She stopped. Her bottom lip was trembling.

"You're not gonna get rid of me that easily." I said trying to put a light spin on it. My mom smiled, laughed a little even but it didn't reach her eyes.

"Okay Mr. Payne, I think you should rest now. The drugs I'm giving you are going to knock you out as well as take away any pain you have." I smiled and thanked her.

"I love you Liam." My mom said as she was being ushered away,

"I love you too mom." I murmured before blacking out.
