"I saw her again." I said triumphantly, sitting down at the lunch table with my friends. Harry glanced up at me, pausing as he ate his salad.

"Alright! My man!" Austin exclaimed high-fiving me.

"Who'd you see again?" Daniel questioned lamely. I rolled my eyes.

"The girl at the lake remember." I said, sitting down on the bench. There was a chorus of 'Oh's' and I laughed. Harry seemed intrigued by this new development. I hadn't told anyone yet. My parents hadn't woken up when I left this time so they didn't suspect a thing and while I knew it was kind of important, I hadn't mentioned it to Harry before now. I wanted to hear what everyone had to say before I did anything rash or stupid.

"So how is she?" James asked. "What's her name? Is she hot?" He asked rapid fire. I laughed.

"Slow down, God. She's.. She's great. She name is Siren and she's absolutely beautiful." I nodded my head slowly as I opened my bag of chips. Everyone was still staring at me, waiting for me to continue.

"Well come on, elaborate." Daniel said hitting my arm.

"Yeah, how exactly did she look?" Harry asked. I chewed on the inside of my cheek. I had seen them again, the scales. They were very faint but if you looked close enough, they were definitely there. I swallowed hard.

"She has dark hair and sort of a green blue eye color." I began slowly. "She was wearing a dress again, white. There were flowers in her hair." The guys snickered.

"You're telling us all the nonessential details. Come on, was she fit? Have a nice rack? What?" Austin asked. I frowned at him.

"That's not the point."

"Ooo he's a man in love if he didn't look at her boobs." Daniel joked. I rolled my eyes at him.

"I'm starting to see why you guys are single." They erupted into laughter.

"Oh my god, sick burn Niall. But you're right. We should be more like you. Hey guys, we should all find ourselves mysterious girls in lakes." I scoffed, shaking my head. They just didn't get it. Siren wasn't just a girl, she was special. And I guess, technically, she wasn't really a girl either. The conversation moved onto something else, some sort of gossip revolving Jenny from the cheerleading team but I didn't pay attention. I glanced over at Harry and he was still staring at me, I knew he'd have something to say to me later.

"So you saw her again."  I nodded my head slowly as Harry walked up to me at my locker. He didn't even say hi, just jumped straight into the conversation. "And?" I sighed.

"And what?"

"Come on Niall, is she a Siren or not?"

"You said Siren's were by the ocean." Harry rolled his eyes.

"Well they seem to have gone beyond their boundaries. Now tell me, did you notice anything different? Something off about her?"

"She's just a girl." I snapped at him. I didn't know why I was getting so defensive because Harry was the one who told me about Sirens but a part of me was angry that he was asking questions about her. Harry arched a cautious eyebrow.

"Are you sure? You sound pretty angry?" So he noticed. I dropped the tension in my shoulders and took a second to reply so I didn't snap at him.

"I'm fine. She's just.. She's a normal girl Harry. Nothing to worry about. I mean, I'm not dead am I?" Harry nodded his head. I wasn't dead. I repeated in my mind, if Siren really was a mythical creature that ate men, why was I still alive?
