I was tossing and turning on the couch in Harry's living room. He had offered me his bed that night but I thought it was a little weird. I still hadn't wrapped my mind around the whole vampire thing. I drank blood already and the reason my teeth hurt earlier was because of my fangs pushing through, thanks to the smell of blood. And I had ripped that door off its hinges, which Harry scolded me for but its not like I knew how strong I was.

Sighing I stared up at the popcorn ceiling. I hadn't noticed it earlier but my eyesight was better. Before, I was on the verge of getting glasses and now I had perfect 20/20 vision. Everything was sharper and I could see farther. I almost felt like Superman, except he could see through walls.

I hand't been able to test any of my other abilities though. According to Harry I was now stronger, faster and prettier. God, I had given him hell for insulting me.

"Your human form was okay I guess." He said with a shrug.

"Okay you guess?" I demanded, crossing my arms. Why was he being such a dick? He turned me into a vampire to save my life and now he was insulting my looks. Harry shrugged again.

"What? It's true. You think I looked this good when I was human?" He asked gesturing to his face. I pursed my lips and said nothing. How was I supposed to know what he looked like back then, all I was seeing was what he looked like now. "As a vampire, your features are more defined. You look more striking now. It's a compliment. Vampirism suits you." I rolled my eyes at him. It was a backhand compliment at best.

"Whatever." I muttered. Harry had chuckled. I had talked to him after that about leaving but he wouldn't let me.

"You need to learn how to control your blood lust. If you go out there now, you'll jump the first human you see and rip their goddamn throat out." I scoffed.

"I think I have more self-control than that." I exclaimed. Harry shook his head.

"That's what everybody thinks but they're wrong. You have to relearn self-control."

"Who is everybody?" I questioned. Harry arched an eyebrow at me.

"You think we're the only vampires in the world?"

"No, of course not. I'm not stupid. I just want to know how many." Harry looked to the ceiling, thinking.

"Think in the millions. The numbers diminished back during the time of the witch trials and the population hasn't reached the billions yet."

"The witch trials?" I questioned. Harry snorted.

"Those religious idiots burned anyone that was suspicious."

"Were you there when it happened?" If he was, then he was really fucking old.

"God no. Do I look that old to you?" He paused as I gave him the are you fucking kidding me look. "Bad question but anyways, I have a friend who lived back then. Great girl. She was almost burned at the stake." For some reason, the mention of another girl vampire made me a bit jealous. I tried to shake away the feeling though.

"So how old are you really?" Harry smirked.

"I was born in the 60's."

"So you were part of the whole 'Make Love Not War' era." Harry chuckled.

"Exactly." He said looking me up and down. If I was still capable of blushing, I would have in that moment. Instead I pursed my lips and tried to look at least a little bit disgusted but unfortunately, I was more turned on than anything.

To try to help me go to sleep, I tried thinking about my friends and family and what I would say to them when I finally saw them. They thought I was dead. There was too much blood in my car and at the scene for me not to be dead. Miraculously, the other driver was perfectly fine which made me happy. According to the police reports, they thought some sick fuck had taken my body and was dragging it through the woods, judging by the trail of blood Harry left.
