Morgan

She hasn't gotten any sleep.

They're at a hotel across town; the kids peacefully asleep as if nothing has happened. And she wishes she had that luxury; the luxury of being blissfully oblivious.

It might actually have helped at the moment.

She feels like nothing was solved. Like she didn't get everything out that she was supposed to.

Her mind is blank as she tries to get herself together long enough to try to seem normal. But she can't.

What am I going to do? Is this the end of us? Why did this happen?

She's on the bathroom floor crying her eyes out. She's feeling lower than the floor at this point. Her chest hurts so bad; she can't breathe and she's sort of gasping. Her eyes close and she leans her head back; her body sort of falling into a standstill.

The darkness is never ending.

She wakes up to someone touching her face. The hand is sort of caressing her cheek and it's oddly comforting.

"Mommy, wake up." A little voice speaks and she's dragged up from the darkness.

Her eyes open and find the light brown eyes of her son. He's saying at her with a look of worry that would only be expected of an adult and not a child. His hand is still on her cheek and he cocks his head to the side as he looks at her.

"Why are your eyes red mommy? Are you sick?"

"No honey, I'm just a little tired."

"Is that why you're on the floor? Why you not sleep in the bed?"

"I wanted you and Darlene to be comfortable. I'm fine. Come on, let's go order some breakfast."

She pats his hand on her face before he let's go. She stands up; stretching before they make their way into the bedroom. Darlene is now up and she's rolled onto her back; playing with her feet and making noises. She moves over and picks her up, kissing both her cheeks.

"Knox get the menu right there and pick out what you want to eat. Whatever you want." He smiles; excitedly going to grab the menu and looking over it.

After she orders the food and it arrives; they sit at the table in the room. Knox is devouring his pancakes and she's feeding Darlene her apple sauce. She just ops for coffee because honestly her apetite is gone. She isn't hungry and her body hurts but she puts on the best face she can manage for her children.

She bathes and dresses them before they make their way over to Mama T's house. She asked for them to be dropped off so she can spend quality time with all of her grandchildren; including Zeek. That, and she talked about her children and spouses having quality time as well.

But at this moment she didn't want anything to do with Colin.

"Thank you for dropping them off." She speaks up; breaking her out of the reverie.

"No problem. Their your grandchildren; you can see them anytime you want." She smiles.

"Knox can you go in the living room? Pop and Zeek are waiting for you." He runs out of the kitchen. It's just the both of them plus Darlene whose cuddling into her grandma's side.
