Superheroes.

It was the day of Knox's third birthday, and he was having a superhero costume party. Everyone would be there and she had spent weeks making decorations and planning things. It was the most fun she'd had in forever.

Knox's birthday was right on time because it was only a week before halloween. So she did nothing short of everything she possibly could to make it special.

"You know normal people dress up as superheroes for a superhero party." Colin smirked as she finished adjusting her dress.

"I'm not normal; just in case you were wondering." She smirked.

While Colin had stuck with superman; she had wanted to go for something a bit out of the box.

Harley Quinn.

"Yeah well, whatever. Come on superman we have some stuff to do."

There were people everywhere; family and friends and kids Knox had met in the neighbourhood and other places. It looked like everyone was having fun and the laughter was a nice sound compared to all the time she had spent alone.

After a few hours of entertaining she finally just sat down and rested her nerves. Colin was hanging out with the guys and she had just perched herself at the picnic table to play an amusing game of cards with Sammie, Devon, Ari, Danielle and Liza.

"Superhero theme...you making up for that time your mom told you that you couldn't have that spiderman party?" Sammie giggled and she hit her arm.

"No, this is Knox's party. Can't you see I'm the villain?"

"Of course you are...the unknown villain."

"Speaking of unknowns...who is that?" Danielle asked and she looked up from her cards to see what she was talking about.

There was a tall woman with long brown and blonde hair standing at the edge of the lawn. She had on Sky high heels and an all white outfit on. She was bothering almost everyone passing by.

"I have no idea." She got up and walked toward the woman who was now yelling over the music.

"Colin? I need to talk to my man, where is he?" She stopped and looked her up and down.

"This is private property...can I help you?"

"I need to see my boyfriend, Colin."

"And your name is?"

"Alyssa."

Well shit.

"Well Alyssa, I'm Colin's wife Morgan and I'd really appreciate it if you left my husband alone."

Keep calm...was Colin lying? I have to talk to him about that.

Before Alyssa could talk again, Colin came over.

"Alyssa? Why are you here?"

"I want to talk to you."

"I don't want to talk to you; you need to leave."

"You just broke it off and you didn't explain why."

"I told you-" she moved him back a little;stepping to the woman who was now a little too close.

"This is my house, and I don't know what crossed your mind that made it okay to show up at my child's birthday party. I need you to leave."

"No wonder he came to me; you're too damn uptight to have any fun."
