Morgan
-dream-
She's standing at the end of a long and dark hallway.
There's no doors, no windows, no nothing; just a sort of narrow space. And at the end of that space: are two pairs of red eyes. Red eyes that seem to get brighter and brighter.
"Who's there?" She calls and she hears a laugh before someone steps forward.
The woman had long black hair and a narrow nose. Her lips were sort of purple and her pale skin sort of glowed in the dimly lit hallway.
"You're pathetic."
"What? Who are you?"
"Colin wants to leave. He's only staying because of the kids."
"No...he loves me."
"He doesn't. He hates you. He came to see me because he wanted to get away from you."
"You...you're Alyssa."
"I'm anyone you want me to be. I'm the woman that's always going to be there. Ready to take everything away from you."
She walked closer, and the closer she walked the more she backed up away from her. It was a game that she was quickly losing as the space started to run out. The hallway turned into a dark night outside, and her steps got her closer and closer to the edge of a cliff. A cliff with water and jagged rocks down below.
And she was right at the edge.
"He doesn't love you."
"That's not true."
"It is true." A voice speaks up. The woman backs up and the second pair of red eyes steps forward out of the darkness.
It's Colin.
He walks up to her, his face showing no expression.
"I don't love you. Everyday for the past three years I've been regretting the day I said 'I do.'"
"Stop it." He walks closer.
"You're nothing to me. You're a horrible wife, an awful person and an awful mother." It's like the life is being sucked out of her.
"Please stop."
"I can't wait to leave you." She sort of stumbles back; losing her balance and falling.
She's soaring through the air, racing toward the bottom.
"NO!"
-end of dream-
She jolts up, breathing heavy as she registers her surroundings.
She's laying in their bed; the only source of light being the moonlight that's showing through the open curtains. The bed is empty, and the covers are all of a sudden way too warm and way too uncomfortable.
She's sweating so bad her nightclothes are almost drenched. And her chest is aching.
She looks to the clock: 3:03.
